Still this emptiness persists. Perhaps this is as good as it gets.

Take a little walk to the edge of town and go across the tracks. Where the viaduct looms, Like a bird of doom as it shifts and cracks.

Going underground (again)

There’s something about being underground on a warm summers day. We had to take our shoes and socks off to traverse the stream which had found itself a new path into the mouth of Ireland’s longest abandoned railway tunnel.

Once inside and enveloped by the darkness we began to explore. This tunnel had a really interesting rock to brick arch variant due to historic collapses.

At approximately 828metres Goggins hill tunnel is a nice long tunnel to spend some time inside.

Good Shepherd Convent

We tracked down the old Good Shepherd Convent in Cork. A true ruin now but rooted in a dark history. A beautiful building overlooking the city.

We had a rare weekend off life recently and headed out to stay in Dingle, Co. Kerry. A good two hour spin from our home along roads that are worthy of the most dramatic movie scenes imaginable.
