I don't know what it is but with this cold weather I only want to wear warm comfy clothes, nothing to complicated. When you're feeling like this it's harder to still look stylish as deep inside you just want to wear sweatpants and wrap a blanket around yourself. I think it's important to have qualitative basics. I'm wearing my new favourite wool / cashmere turtleneck from T by Alexander Wang, It's a good basic and you can literally wear it with anything. As I'm not rich I like to combine more expensive stuff with vintage.

Working with Eefje De Coninck is always such a pleasure as it's a whole other approach. The clothes or not the main thing everything in the picture needs to fit the atmosphere that she creates.

The girl in the picture, Sylvie is the singer of this great Belgium band Soldier's Heart. They produce these dreamy, cheerful synthpop sounds, definitely a band to watch!

Temperatures dropped below zero and in some places the first snow is falling. It’s official, winter is in town and so is Christmas!!

I love Christmas, people going out to buy presents, decorating their home, putting lights around the Christmas three. To be honest I find it difficult to buy presents for people. This weekend, I enjoyed what might be the last sun before temperatures go under zero. I was still able to go outside with bare legs (I don't really like wearing tights) Mixing heavy knitwear with my faux-fur and bare legs under my skirt that's what i love. Did you notice my new Jil Sander clutch? It's the first time I'm wearing it and I'm loving it more and more. Big plus, no need to go through whole your handbag anymore to find your keys;)

Oh Paris, I miss you

I bought these Pony-hair beauties at VSP in le Marais, apparently it’s there first flagship store in Paris.

Beside the shoes it was leather heaven in there! They had the most amazing jackets in the softest leather. All very simple but perfect from cut that’s how i like it.

Last but ab-so-lu-te-ly not least they have an ongoing seasonal collaboration with Hussein Chalayan!

The Power of Object(s) at MAD Brussels

I was invited for a private tour who guided us through Belgium design and his economics. Most of us know the classics like Maarten Van Severen or Charles Kaisin but what items are they well known for and which are the products they earn money with. 

The objects were presented from three different angles. 

I  : The most Iconic object

€ : The most profitable object

# : The object that sold the most

This gave me an insight in design that I didn't have before or where you don't really think about cause you only see the beauty of the object. 

They made me realize that design has to compromise more then art, they have to answer on social needs. They need to think about whether there prices need to be democratic or not. Luckily there are companies like Dark, Extremis, Bulo,... who help those creative minds survive in this economic world.
