cal who saves up his meds so he can sell them at school. he pretends like he’s taking them in front of his family, but he really keeps the pills in his hand and sneaks them into a bag when he gets back in his room. everyone notices that something is different with him, but no one (other than andre) knows he has stopped taking his meds cold turkey. andre never hears the end of how bad cal feels, but when he tries to suggest safely tapering off the medication, cal just shushes him.
