I’m baaacckkkk!!!

A couple of months ago, I made a post that was me considering coming back to the Arcana community (more specifically, the Courtiers), and since then I’ve been getting likes- so ig I should return 👍

First: Valdemar art/updated art style

Very proud of this, especially since the last time I drew them was back in 2021 😬

Second: I’ve decided to go back and rewrite my OC’s story. Florence is my Arcana OC (but is not the apprentice), and Valdemar’s love interest in her story. Her original personality/story is very…. Passive. Which isn’t a bad thing, however after thinking about it for a couple of years (and growing up from that 16 year old that created her), I’ve realized that her and valdemar would not be compatible as partners/have different morals, ect.

So I’ve decided to change her a bit.

Her new story is that she was born in France into a wealthy family (same start of story), however she was always a very curious child and liked to dabble in herbs. She also has quite a temper, and can hold a grudge, however is always articulate on how she acts on that anger. One day, she poisons her father after a spat between them and not wanting to be married off. She ends up having to flee the country (and ends up in Vesuvia). Red Plauge happens, and she ends up becoming a Herbalist (so not really a doctor). Herbalist main goal was to create the medicine that would either heal the Red Plague victims or ease their pain. Florence however took this as a chance to study her own herbalism more, and started poisoning victims (because she believed they were gonna die anyways, so might as well further her art).

Valdemar ends up catching on, as no one else does/they think it’s just new Plague side effects. They first tease her to threaten to expose her and have her executed- this is false as they are now fascinated with her and that there is someone else as determined and dedicated to their craft as they are. She decides to call their bluff and stuff her mouth with poisonous herbs, threatening to swallow if they decided to truly rat on her. Valdemar concedes they won’t finally, and she spits the poison out.

After that though, they both become very interested in one another, and keeping each other’s “secrets” about their experiments. “Flirting” (using very loosely 😭) ends up occurring with Valdemar bringing Florence rare poisonous herbs and Florence bringing new bodies/ victims to Val.

And yeah! If anyone wants anymore story, or more Val art, I’ll def be drawing more later on! Also, shout out to anyone who remembers OG Florence, she will be missed but I’m excited to develop new Florence more. (Questions are open incase anyone has any about anything 😭👍)

Here is a new drawing of Florence. I can’t believe that for two years I drew her nonstop and then didn’t draw her again. It’s been 4 years now- that’s insane.

I’m just gonna be honest and say I left the Arcana fandom because it was extremely toxic. Like low key, I was 16 and adults were arguing with me 🧍🏽‍♀️ now I’m 20 and couldn’t imagine being so mean to anyone let alone teenagers. But anyways, I think I’m slowly gonna return. I miss drawing and writing Valdemar x Apprentice media 😭🙏

Phantom of the opera AU with valdemar as the phantom, Florence as Christine, and Nazali (or possibly julian) as raoul.

I’m really proud how these sketches turned out, and may possibly actually outline and properly shade them soon. I have some more sketches I may share just because my brain has only had this single brain cell for almost a week at this point.

Valdemar's child asking them to sing a lullabyyy

yassss so I loved writing this so much because I’m a huge softy for valdemar with a child. 

So a little bit of a few things. Ive used the name Victoria for the child (because i originally created a child for Valdemar and their name was Victoria but i can also rewrite another version with the child’s name neutral if anyone wants that.) 

Also fun fact: the song Valdemar is singing is Elysian night. And if you didn’t know Elysian is a Mythological field known for  “the abode of the blessed after death. any similarly conceived abode or state of the dead. any place or state of perfect happiness; paradise.” And I don’t know the song seemed fitting for Valdemar. Ill reblog with the original song too.

Victoria sat underneath one of the dissecting tables in the dungeons. While most children would fear the place and even scream at the thought of entering the lab, victoria enjoyed her time there. Not only did the dungeons hold a special type of place in her heart, due to the fact that her parent was the one who worked down there and who enjoyed having her around. But also because it always offered new things to learn, and explore. And it always piped Victoria’s  curiosity as to how things worked.

And today was no diffrent.

Victoria was 6 years old, and like many 6 year olds, she was enjoying a novel of her favorite mystery gang. Her parent, quaestor valdemar worked above her on some client that probably wasn’t even breathing.

“5 more minutes before you have to start preparing for bed.” Valdemar said to her, though she still wasn’t paying much attention, as the friend group in the book had suddenly hit a problem, that would stop them from saving the town!

Now immersed even more in her book, Victoria shut off all other noises in the background and continued reading, until she was stopped by a pair of hands grabbing her and lifting her up into the air, her book falling to the ground and completely surprising her.

“Alright, time to go duckling” they set her on the floor where she huffed and picked up the book, dusting it off and setting the bookmark in the place she had left off.

“Already? Can’t I stay up another 10 minutes…” she complained and set her book down on a clean table.

“I’m afraid not. I’m needed by the countess and it’s already past your bedtime.” They explained as they cleaned off the bone saw.

Victoria has already become accustomed to her parents work and just looked at valdemar in slight annoyance than fear.

Soon valdemar had cleaned up their work space and turned to Victoria

“Now time to go get you ready for bed.” They simply held out their hand and victoria took it, leaving her book behind and walking in the corridors of the palace.

Once they arrived to the spare room in the palace which Victoria usually stayed when it got late, and valdemar wanted to continue their work, valdemar held the doors open while Victoria entered and started to clean up.

Once she was in her sleepwear, she turned to her parent who had already untucked the sheets on her bed, and helped her into it, covering her and tucking her in. They turned to leave then felt a tiny hand grab onto the cloth of their uniform.

“Can you… Can you sing me a song? Please?” She asked hesitantly

Valdemar though before nodding and sitting on the bed besides their child.

Valdemar looked down at their child, smiling softly as she had fallen asleep. They leaned down and left a soft kiss on her head and stood up, re adjusting their apron before blowing out the last light candle in her room.

Before exiting, they turned to look at her one last time. Hoping that she would stay their small child forever.

F = first date (what was it like?)

A date? What a curious human custom. Of course that the act of courting always existed but it never had such an official title. But they will indulge you, it seems like fun

They go over the top, for real, you did not see this coming. They strive to be the best at everything they do and take pride in that, which obviously includes thinking about the best date for their little human.

It's most likely at the theater or opera, and afterwards dinner. They might even set up a little 'treasure hunt' for you that leads to the location, just to watch you struggle to figure out the clues from the shadows.

U = unbearable (what habit do they have that’s unbearable? What habit do you have that they find unbearable)

Corrects your grammar. Constantly. Or makes fun of modern slang words that you use. You know it's coming because they always start with "Oh, is this how you call it nowadays?"

On the other hand, you sometimes feel like you're listening to your grandpa talk about how good things were in the old days. They make like 5 detours of the story. Really, it takes an hour to tell you about that time they went to buy bread and their usual bakery was closed so they had to go to another one.

X = eXtra (what’s an interesting fact about them that they don’t tell anyone about?)

They know how to knit. And they're incredibly good and fast at it. You once complained about being cold and 20 minutes later you were wrapped in a sweater. "I didn't know you-" "And nobody else but you ever will". Yes, that was a threat.

Hey this seems like a good time to post this, but basically I drew this 2 days ago and it’s a winter ball Florence charm thingy.

I like how it came out and her dress kinda reminds me of a Disney princess. Anyways-
