Fandoms: Legend of Zelda, Evangelion, Revolutionary Girl Utena, Avatar/Korra, Orange is the New Black, Parks & Rec, Madoka Magica, and a shit ton of other stuff. Note: I may like these things, but I hate fandoms., however contradictory that may sound. This blog is NOT spoiler-free, and ocassionally slightly NSFW. The usual music post may include OSTs, St Vincent, Sigur Rós, Mew, Daft Punk, she, Radiohead, Muse, Warpaint, MGMT, and whatever I'm obsessed with at the moment. I also love penguins, food, irrelevant posts about life, cats, coffee, languages, pretty things, surreal stuff and anything that explores the mind. Whatever is important enough for you to message me about, you don’t need to hide behind a gray icon, and I will gladly respond privately. Jimi Urquiaga has released his debut Spring/Summer 2014 collection, Aguanile, from his new clothing line J. Urquiaga.
A lot of the inspiration from the collection originated from Urquiaga’s culture background and profound interests. As a Cuban-American, he was greatly inspired by the woman of the Afro-Cuban religion, Santeria. As a form of spiritual purity, the women who practice Santeria wear all white. Thus, “Aguanile” by J. Urquiaga was conceived. Aguan, meaning “cleansing,” fits as the appropriate title in relation to the study of Santeria by Afro-Cubans. Urquiaga was eager to create this collection that exemplified the culture of this religion and embodied a clean palette in which welcomes the Spring/Summer of 2014.
