True security comes when Jesus is the center of all that we think or do. The Psalmist David experienced the betrayal of loved ones, he was hunted down by king Saul for doing nothing but good and he was chased like an outcast by his own son, Absalom. He knew that circumstances shift and people change, yet it is God who keeps us safe in the midst of trials. Jesus is the only One who is the same yesterday, today and forever. Truly, He is the only one who has the best intentions for us. His thoughts toward us are for good and not evil; apart from Him we have no good thing. David knew this and uttered, Keep me safe, my God, for in You I take refuge.

Men fail us but JESUS NEVER FAILS!

The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding. Proverbs 9:10

Fear of the Lord is to place God in the highest position of reverence. Revering God and humbling yourself before Him are the first steps to gaining wisdom, which means, God is the center of your life. In Him is the wisdom to help us make the right decisions each day of our lives.

Prayer: Lord, we lack the wisdom and understanding to face the world. Please teach us the fear of the LORD, and shun evil so that we can gain a heart of understanding. In Jesus’ Name. Amen
