People who watch the amazing digital circus and complain about how much screentime Jax gets compared to ragatha/gangle/zooble don't understand that sometimes in a TV show, some characters are more important than others.

This is like if I watch the series finale of gravity falls and got upset because they focused too much on Stanford and Stanley instead of like, Wendy or Soos. Wendy and Soos are SUPPORTING CHARACTERS, their personal stories don't fit into the main story the writers were trying to tell. Ragatha, Zooble, and Gangle's personal stories aren't as important to the narrative as Jax's AND THATS OK, THAT'S HOW WRITING WORKS!!! It's 9 episodes and we don't have time to unpack everyone's personal struggles if you wanted to see that there's this really cool thing called fanfiction you should look into it

I recently finished gossip girl for the first time last month and I can't stop thinking about Jenny Humphrey and how tragic her story is.

I feel like the 2 things Jenny wants most is acceptance and independence. She wants to be accepted as a member of society and especially wants to earn blaire's respect and become her friend. She does manual labor for her to get invited to her parties, she let's herself get hazed by Blaire but once she realizes that Blaire set her up she's set on becoming the new Blaire which I think also plays into her need for independence. I'm pretty sure she's like the youngest character in the show (besides maybe Eric) and I think part of the reason why she finds high society so fascinating and wants it for herself so badly is because of how independent everyone is at such a young age. They drink they go out late they host parties it's all very adult and I think Jenny wants to be treated the same way, as an adult. Because of this she skips school for her fashion internship she lies to her father she becomes an alternate version of herself and the most tragic thing is that she gets taken advantage of by 3 men who are wayyyy too old for her. Idr remember how old Nate was when he kissed Jenny I think he might've been 17 or 18 but still too old for a 15-16 year old girl. Damien was fully an adult and also a drug dealer and Chuck I'm pretty sure was 18 when he took Jenny's virginity and he's the worst and I hate him but also I want to circle back to the Damien plotline and the internship because that was actually so sad.

After her dad disapproves of her being homeschooled she runs away with her friend to start their own fashion line and when that goes wrong and she comes back home (I think it's been a minute) she meets Damien who convinces her to help with his drug deals with the promise of a relationship but really all he wanted was to take advantage of her and the saddest part about all of this is that nobody is taking her seriously. Her dad gets mad and lashes out at her for dating a drug dealer when he SHOULD be worried about how his daughter is getting GROOMED by a drug dealer. Vanessa is made at Jenny for kissing Nate when she should be mad at Nate for kissing a MINOR and not setting proper boundaries with her, and when Chuck takes advantage of her Blaire's mad at Jenny for sleeping with her boyfriend and banishes her instead of being mad at Chuck for HAVING SEX WITH A MINOR (and sure she might've been mad after she banished Jenny but at the end of the show they get married and I feel like that's one of the many unforgivable things Chuck has done).

Idk I'm sorry if this isn't coherent at all but I love Jenny and I hate how tragic her arc was I hate that her problems and wants aren't taken seriously by the adults around her. She's a cautionary tale of why it's probably not a good idea to enroll your teenage daughter in a school full of snobby privileged rich kids.
