The last 6 months have been eventful to say the least but, today, I am the happiest I have been in 3 or 4 years. Life has its ups and downs but now I am free. Free from influence, manipulation, and heart break. I hope this new year holds many surprises and challenges because, now, I am ready.
I have made mistakes. I have been brutal to people I love. I broke myself but with the help of some very special people, I dug myself out of a pretty big hole. A hole that from the bottom, the top is invisible. Non existent. To those that I have hurt, I am sorry. âSorryâ is a word I have thrown around a lot in the past but I take it more seriously now. âLoveâ is another word I used in excess without truly understanding what it meant. Love is what got me to where I am now. Love, through anguish, allowed to achieve self worth. Inner peace.
Being the person I am, I notice things most others overlook. Because of this, I understand more about human psychology and interaction than the majority of people my age. If someone tries to mess with me, I know. I know for a number of different reasons that alone, mean nothing; but together, mean everything. People that are mean surely have a reason. Right? I mean why would someone treat someone ill without justification? I did it because I was scared. Scared of what? Of losing the one person who I felt a real connection with. Who I still feel I have a real connection with. Only thing being, Iâm not willing to chase such a fantasy.
My new yearâs resolutions are:
1. Be more me.
2. Become nicer.
3. Improve socially.
4. Work on my body. (For my own comfort.)
5. Give even less of a f**k.
I wish everyone, friends and family, the entire world, a happy new year and hope that you all make the most of it. Have no regrets. Live on the edge and you might just be pushed on to better things. Let bygones be bygones and forgive those that hurt you. Donât let anyone tell you what you canât do because you can do anything you set your mind to. Aspire to be the best âyouâ you canât be.
Signing off.
Your friendly neighbourhood,
Barry.
