I just finished watching this movie and hurried to resereach about Jo being aro.
This “false ending” theory makes me so comfortable and honestly I just love every single explanation on this text. I was so happy to see a nice story of a girl that rejects romance and that’s fine with it, that when she went after Friedrich I actually cried because I thought my aro headcanon was over just as it always happens.
