I've been here for 3 years?
a song in the spirit of "my favorite things" but it's all the things eliot spencer has ever described as distinctive
Haircuts on bad guys and satellite static gunshots that "crack" and sound full automatic knife-fighting styles that say "former Marines" these are some very distinctive things.
M16 search patterns, CIA stances unexplained hitmen with Korean accents sounds of small drones with mechanical springs these are some very distinctive things.
When the blonde bites when our Bre sings when I'm always mad I identify some distinctive things, and then I don't feel so bad.
(Big thanks to this post by @lindseymcdonaldseyelashes for the list of "very distinctive" moments)
in practice I don't want to be married in theory I would quite like a guy who's consistently around to do stuff with
Have I ever met a man I'd be actually interested in having a real life relationship with? No. Would I enjoy an accomplice? Yeah.
hey man everyone loved how convenient and easily forgettable you were on earth. u were the least inconvenient person out there. my buddy told me you were super helpful and nice and didn't take up any space and just slid away from their mind as soon as they stopped looking at you. it was really impressive how little of an impression you made on anyone. sucks that it didn't save you man.
pour one out for the guy who just spilled his drink
situation worse

ARTISTS!!! what are some of your favourite art supplies (medium/brand) and (free) resources ??
Go-to traditional medium is still mechanical pencil- I've done some good stuff with that and slightly-nicer-than-printer paper. Second is any firm brush pen- faber castille and micron have good ones, I liked the tombow ones too. I don't really do colored stuff traditionally, so not much input there
For digital art I know there are cheaper tablets available now. I've had my current one for years though so I don't know what's out there. I used to use FireAlpaca (free), and I liked that. My old laptop couldn't handle Krita (also free), but I've heard good things about it. Now I use the non-pro version of Clip Studio Paint (paid) and it serves me well. Blender (free) is good for animating in 3d and 2d with the grease pencil tool, but the learning curve is steep (and my laptop could barely handle that too so I haven't used it much)
Youtube has so many good resources -Proko is a solid channel and I've learned a ton from watching Sinix's paint over series. Drawfee has some good class VODs on their extra channel. Also just watching speedpaint videos to get an idea of other people's processes has been helpful.
I used internet archive for one of my perspective textbooks, there's probably more there too.
One of the key things that have helped me as an artist is just practicing observational drawing. From life, but also from photos and based on other people's art. Try to imagine what simple 3d shapes come together to form what you're looking at. Then you can focus on stylizing and details after. Developing your eye as an artist to break down what you're seeing is super important. Pay attention to what you like in other people's art, what you actually like to do, and what your goals are in art and your style will naturally develop.
Small fantasy worldbuilding elements you might want to think about:
A currency that isnât gold-standard/having gold be as valuable as tin
A currency that runs entirely on a perishable resource, like cocoa beans
A clock that isnât 24-hours
More or less than four seasons/seasons other than the ones we know
Fantastical weather patterns like irregular cloud formations, iridescent rain
Multiple moons/no moon
Planetary rings
A northern lights effect, but near the equator
Roads that arenât brown or grey/black, like San Juanâs blue bricks
Jewelry beyond precious gems and metals
Marriage signifiers other than wedding bands
The husband taking the wife's name / newlyweds inventing a new surname upon marriage
No concept of virginity or bastardry
More than 2 genders/no concept of gender
Monotheism, but not creationism
Gods that donât look like people
Domesticated pets that arenât re-skinned dogs and cats
Some normalized supernatural element that has nothing to do with the plot
Magical communication that isnât Fantasy Zoom
âBooksâ that arenât bound or scrolls
A nonverbal means of communicating, like sign language
A race of people who are obligate carnivores/ vegetarians/ vegans/ pescatarians (not religious, biological imperative)
Iâve done about half of these myself in one WIP or another and a little detail here or there goes a long way in reminding the audience that this isnât Kansas anymore.
Hi tumblr! In case you didn't know, I run a very silly DnD-esq improv mystery show on Drawfee called Drawtectives! Here's the intro that me and @dilfosaur made for it that I'm very proud of. The way that it works is that I write the season / episodes before hand then make all of the main assets before we record, then we run it like a DnD campaign without the dice rolling or skill checks... or skills. The show is in it's 3rd season but you in NO way have to watch the other seasons to jump right in! Just join in and solve a mystery or two with this found family of lovable idiots all played by a... found family of lovable idiots (us the Drawfee team). Episode 1 of Midnight Alley can be found here and the playlist for the season can be found here! New episodes every month unless the baby arrives sooner than anticipated.
I really hope you all enjoy it and if you do, please share it with your friends!
The question hidden within enemies-to-lovers is âwho will love me at my worst?â, the question hidden within friends-to-lovers is âwho will love me at my most mundane?â, hope this helps
Guy whoâs not gonna make it voice: itâs gonna be so awesome when I finally get what I want
