I had this idea in the back of my mind where Bathala (or any other creator deity) disguises himself as a human. At first he did it to spy on humans but eventually decided to roleplay as humans.
It got to the point where, for centuries, this MF became some of the most important figures in history. A tyrant, a hero, a victim — Bathala was everything. And it also got to the point where he essentially forgot his life as a god.
Because of his absence, Sikat, Bathala’s son, took on the role of the paramount deity on top of trying to find his fiancé who got kidnapped and went missing from thousands of years. And it wasn’t until later that Sikat found his dad who’s mingling with humans, but his papa doesn’t recognize him and sees him as this like sleep paralysis demon of sorts
I also have a similar idea where Sitan, one of the demons in the kasanaan, decided to come to earth and roleplay as a human. The difference is Sitan heavily distances himself from the OCS he roleplay as and even gets a break from role playing whenever his OC goes to sleep. He’s aware that he is not human but rather someone who roleplays as one. While Sitan is heavily invested, he can and will get out of character
he's one goofy ahh deity let me tell you BATHALA AUGH
Bathala in my world is actually like one of the most revered deities. His relationship with other deities though is so skewed that he just accepts what people say about it. Like "are you [insert deity]'s dad/uncle/blah blah blah" and he's gonna be like prancing around with his hooves as if his answers wouldn't cause a couple century old conflicts.
He's a whimsical deity, "Bahala na" is what he'd probably say when he forgets that he's referring to himself when he says this.
In some of my old art, he had reduced himself to basically being on vacation from running mortal affairs, leaving his authority and grand nation to be split up between different deities.
Back to the ask though, that's quite hilarious to think about one of his kids looking about for his dad who doesn't remember his godhood. Could be potential angst too if we squint real hard LOL
Also I just adore when deities decide to be whimsical and roleplay as humans.
