Here ye shalle Fynde Good Omens and X-men, with a smattering of Doctor Who, Futurama, Star Wars, and plenty of stuff about how fucked up the world is. I live in Southern California and I'm probably old enough to be your mom even though my only children are covered with fur. Michael Sheen is the only celebrity currently allowed to talk to me.
Please don't follow unless you are over 18 and preferably over 30. Sometimes I give advice about sex and relationships. You probably don't want fashion advice from me though #SocksAndSandals4Lyfe!1!! Avatar by @clementine-e-e

Hi, Hello. I told myself that I was just checking in here to salvage a couple of my sideblogs, but there were so many sweet messages in my inbox that I couldnât not answer at least one of them before I slip away again into the void.
Itâs been a rough year. 2020 has taken my career and several important people away from me. I havenât written much of anything in years except letters and emails to my elected representatives. Iâm hoping to start writing again, but probably not cherik.Â
Iâm still on Ao3, not that Iâm writing, but I see kudos and comments. Iâm still on instagram. However I am 1000% NOT INTERESTED in celebrity gossip anymore and Iâm likely to block people who push me on that.Â
I hope you were able to find whatever you missed about me elsewhere. Iâm not nearly as special as I once thought. But thank you for the message anyway.Â
Hey, you've been so quiet lately. Is there reason to be worried?
Iâm alive and fine, Iâve just abandoned this account, more or less. Iâm still on ao3 as butterynutjob so if anyone is desperate to talk to me Iâm sure they can figure out how. Â
This remarkable letter of unknown provenance surfaced recently in the cuneiform collection of the University of West Wessex.  Addressed to Azirapil from a Mr. âCrawly,â it appears to be begging for the otherâs return to Ur from a western journey with another individual, Abiraham.  The relationship between the two (brothers? business partners? friends?) is unknown, and all three names are quite unusual.  The letter also mentions a Mr. Ea-naᚣir in Ur; if this is the same Ea-naᚣir as the merchant mentioned in UET V 22, 29, 71, and 81, then the original letter would be dated to the Larsa period, around 1800 BCE.  However, this particular copy appears to be a scribal exercise; the writing is relatively unskilled, and the cuneiform is Neo-Assyrian in form.  It is unclear whether the text is based on a historical letter, or if its unusual names and content were invented for scribal practice.
Text:
Tell Azirapil [1]:
Thus says âCrawlyâ [2]:
When will your time in the West be finished? Â Abiraham [3] seems very dirty, and I am weary [4] in Ur. Â [There is] a talented mirsu-maker [5] on Wide Street!
Watch out, for I have acquired a new friend.  His name is Ea-Naᚣir [6], and I may play wickedly with him if you do not return. Â
This proves two things. Firstly, that God does not play dice with the universe. I play an ineffable game of my own devising. For everyone else, itâs like playing poker in a pitch-dark room, for infinite stakes, with a dealer who wonât tell you the rules, and who smiles all the time.          Secondly, the Earth is a Libra.
Know whatâs another kind of representation in Good Omens that doesnât get enough applause? Age.
Even though Crowleyâs appearance is described in the book as that of a âyoung manâ the showâs two most popular characters are played by actors who were pushing 50 (Sheen is 50 this year and Tennant is 48). Yet that didnât stop them from having Tennant turn up the smoldering sex appeal to 11 (Ziraâs sexy to me too but I mean thatâs not necessarily an aspect of his character in the same way, yall get what Iâm sayingâŚhopefully), and it hasnât stopped both of them from being objects ofâŚ.very aggressive shipping by fans of all ages.Â
Then thereâs the Tracy and Shadwell romance, two fairly elderly characters, but itâs not treated any differently than if they were young. I mean sure itâs mildly comical in the sense of keeping up the showâs overall tone, but itâs not like their age itself is the joke.
(Quick tangent re: character romances, this is a difference between British vs. American TV Iâve noticed before, in UK media it seems more common to see older characters still treated like full fledged human beings who are still interested in love and sex and deserve those things too. Even so, itâs still rare enough overall that it stands out to me.)
Anyway, then you have a lot of age diversity among both men and women in the supporting cast too. War is described as a stunningly beautiful 25 year old in the book. In the show sheâs a stunningly beautiful 43 year old (Mireille Enos). Pollution, played by Lourdes Faberes, is 44. Doon Mackichan (Archangel Michael) is 56.
Also Michael is the angel who in legend personally battled Lucifer and cast him down into Hell, and is frequently depicted in military dress. I just feel like in some shows even if theyâd taken the step of casting a woman itâd still be a young actress strutting around in skimpy Wonder Woman looking armor or something. Instead they have this middle aged woman radiating power in a smart suit but also glittery make up and sheâs quite attractive but not in a objectifying way andâŚitâs just good, fam.
So, you know, thanks to the show runners/cast/crew for being kickass in yet another way.
Who even are you??? You're apperantly Tumblr famous but boy, not to be a butt, but I have n o idea..who you are...
I wrote some books and comics a long time ago. Iâve spent a few years writing and making a TV show, because I promised a dead friend I would. Now I spend my days writing introductions to books I promised people I would introduce long, long long ago, and thinking about writing actual things again.
good omens official accounts interact with fans, michael sheen reads fanfictions, neil gaiman promotes fanarts and supports all the headcanons, douglas mackinnon shares fanvids.
good omens is literally the best fandom you could ever ask for.
Me: Y'know what? Not being super active in any fandoms is kinda nice. Havenât gotten into any lately, nothing to be obsessed and crying over. Is this what itâs like to feel nor-HBHHFFFMFFFF
Good Omens: *covers my mouth and throws me into a car* you fuckin THOUGHT
Hereâs a thing. One of the definitions of Seraphim is âburning, i.e. (figuratively) poisonous (serpent); specifically, a saraph or symbolical creature (from their copper color):âfiery (serpent), seraph. â. Now, Iâm not saying Gneil and Pterry were (letâs be real, especially Pterry) excessively nerdy theology-lovers, butâŚ
Fiery? Yep. Serpent? Yep. Copper-coloured hair? Yep. Also speaks directly to God about things theyâve discussed in the past? Yep.
Crowley = fallen seraph, the highest rank of angel.
