What aspects do you think make for the most successful pairing in synastry?

Moon or Venus conjunct Saturn (can give stability to the couple but they could feel responsible for each other at the same time)

I think the cardinal signs can represent time. Cancer represents the past, and Capricorn represents the future. Aries and Libra both represent the present, and are the signs that can either help us progress into the future, or stay in the past. I say this because Aries represents the self and Libra represents the other. In order to either go to the future or stay in the past, we have to constantly think about ourselves and the people around us. How we deal with ourselves and others will put us on a certain path and direction. We can either sit back and nostalgically think of the past, or think of the future possibilities our life holds.

I think society tends to place nostalgia and thinking of the past in a negative light, when I think it is essential for us to move forward. In order to move forward, we must look back. In order to achieve our wants from the world, the 10th House, naturally ruled by Capricorn, we have to reflect our roots. We must evaluate the resources we were given in the 4th House, naturally ruled by Cancer. We have to reflect our past selves and relationships if we want to create a new self and relationship with others. We have to learn if we want to go forward.

This is why you will find Cancers thinking about their past a lot while you will see Capricorns thinking about how they’ll achieve their future ambitions.
