This is your reminder that without eSims, many people in Gaza cannot reach the rest of the world. To their loved ones overseas to the people who have donated to their fundraisers hoping to keep them alive. The Israeli government has issued repeated communications blackouts, trying to cut us off from Gaza. Even when there are not "official" blackouts, telecommunications are dangerous; Palestinians like Medo have died in makeshift tent cafes trying to access the internet and reach us. In Gaza, infrastructure has been severely damaged, despite the brave and hard work of people in Paltel on the ground. Do not think that because you read a headline about a communications blackout ending, eSims are not needed; Israel has already laid groundwork to cut Gazans off from the world - eSims work independent from the Israeli government and can provide data and phone service, an essential lifeline.

PSA for potential esim buyers:

buying esims is a bit more involved than some may realize-- there are different plans available (1GB, 3GB, 5GB, 10GB), all different prices, all of which expire, meaning that you need to continuously replenish, or "top-off", someone's data plan once the esim is activated

(well-- it's not "needed" perse, but having a plan expire means the esim user must go through the arduous process of activating a new esim- which as stated above, are in extremely limited supply

maintaining an esim may not be feasible for everyone. if that's the case for you- i strongly recommend putting money towards crips for esims. this project not only purchases esims, but keeps 3000+ esims active on behalf of their donors

UPDATE: Pads and Reusable Water Bottles!

These past few days, Hussam says that the temperature was quite high, going as high as 37C on Yawn Arafat (the day before Eid)! The situation for everyone continues to be tough in the middle of their continued displacement while they seek safety from bombings.

Thankfully, Hussam managed to buy 5 liter reusable water bottles and pads for the people of the camp he is staying at. Each family received a 5 liter water bottle and 3 packages of high quality hygiene pads. Your donations helped make this possible!

The Gaza E-Sims project has posted that they need more e-Sims from a variety of sources! E-sims are among the only ways people in Gaza are able to remain connected and coordinate care outside Gaza for things such as GoFundMe's or being able to talk to their loved ones and remaining up to date on what's happening!! Israel has still cut off communication and is even actively trying to make it harder for the people in Gaza trying to connect. Internet and telecommunications is a human right these days, especially given that Palestinians have been repressed for nearly a century.

The process super easy to do and there's a guide on their insta and also at gazaesims.com on how to buy and send the sims to be redeemed. If you can't afford to buy one now, please share this because e-Sims are incredibly important right now for Palestinians!
