hehe my Open Heart MC : Judah “Jude” Lynn Marion

Jude was born in Namur,Belgium and moved to India (Puducherry)with his mom when he was quite young , along with his twin and younger sister.Then moved back to Belgium , back to his father (terrible time really) and made it to the United States for med school!Yippee!

There’s much more detail to all this but like that’s better being told another time lmao

So in OH you can choose what sort of doctor your mc can be and for Jude I’ve always chosen the very patient oriented dialogue options.Jude loves to help people , he loves getting to know his patients , he loves being able to do so much good for other people.He was raised catholic (Both parents were VERY religious and conservative ) and in the years spent away from his family he’s able to explore his relationship with God and such with more freedom and really slowly realises he doesn’t have to be so damn miserable all the time lmao.So yeah this sort of ties in with how he treats the people around him.Jude Marion , always ready to save someone’s day.Really just trying to spread some good in the world and also believing in a force of good.He does question his faith quite a bit during his second and third year for certain reasons I feel is better to reveal later.But overall he’s just an empathetic and caring person , and can be a little timid at times.

Jude is an avid fan of Ethan Ramsey and considers his diagnostic principles textbook a second bible (he would never say this out loud).So during his first year…unfortunately….he can’t help but idolize Ethan and think that he’s like the greatest of all time 😭 This perception changes significantly over the course of the trilogy and he learns that he really shouldn’t have had such a view of Ethan.He does respect him as a mentor and very grateful for his guidance but it’s also like…hmmm I was wrong about you in so many ways…Ethan takes on more of a fatherly mentor role in my canon like how Naveen is to Ethan.

Jude had this….thing? With Raphael but never went anywhere and fizzled out when he ended up with Sora.His official love interest is Bryce :) . Their relationship is quite slow to develop into anything serious because of Bryce’s issues with vulnerability and ‘not wanting to be tied down’ (also I really like the demiromantic Bryce HC) and Jude still coming to terms with his sexuality.And they’re both just terrified but don’t say anything to each other.And also they’re very busy people lmfao

anyways um yeah this is a bit about Jude, birthed this guy when OH 3 was releasing I think idk but uh yeah can’t wait to share more of his lore later heeehee

third week !!!! some would consider this week a fun week and some (me) would consider it the most evil week of all. so basically a win all around! also this is goingto be a long one because literally everything happened in these four chapters for some reason. this is not a real question but like does anyone else think its weird that the mrs martinez plot happened in one chapter ? hello ??

DISCUSSION QUESTIONS

im going to get the obvious one out of the way. how did we all feel about ethan? obviously there were a lot of extra diamond scenes but as far as miami and the first real ethan romancing scenes, how did it all go down in your hc?

along with the last question, there were a few interesting diamond scene choices that i wanted to get your interpretations on as well. specifically ethan asking mc to secretly run labs with him. i apparently did not get a clean ss of the choices. sorryyyyy. now that you all know what i picked, what did you pick/what would you have picked? what does that say about your mc?

(i was actually upset to see that there were seemingly no playthroughs on yt with the thicker skin option. thats what jensen WOULD have said but i was too curious to know what ethan responded with when mc stood up to him. and if youre Also curious it was absolutely nothing. of course)

i dont even know where to start with this question. again a lot happened. heists. espionage. what route did you take for stealing the antidote? bryce or jackie? also is this in character for your mc? and i know that feels like a stupid question but i mean. a lot of stuff has happened. theyve been denied and theyve worked their ass off and the competition is kind of ripping everyone apart and now they're 'mysteriously' being sabotaged. would your mc go this far any day, or have the current circumstances perhaps pushed them in ways they are or are not aware of?

we also had the dinner scene with our friends and raf. where did your mc fit in this conversation? whats their educational background, and how does that impact how they see raf, how they see their friends, and how they see themself?

the miami of it all

the overall feeling can be summed up as 'oh, so that's how it is?' the conference puts a lot of things into question. while the story doesn't delve into it, i would imagine amani second guesses her actual ranking. if she really earned it or was placed there simply to give ethan a valid reason to bring her. i don't know if she'll ever get a clear answer on that. doubtful she'd believe any answer ethan would provide. all she knows is that she's part of a quid pro quo-- one that'll embolden her more reckless behavior later on. not much to say for the romance scenes other than amani flatly telling ethan she's a raging lesbian while they're together on the balcony lol.

this kind of ties into your follow-up q's from last week's chapters. when it comes to amani's involvement with banerji's case, she hates being neck-deep in ethan's shit. there's still anger lingering from the conference-- from being used, knowing that she herself had been leveraging ethan's favoritism to her advantage, how doing so has backfired-- the best way to put it is it's amani reckoning with her own hypocrisy. so her not helping ethan sneak into the lab is her way of taking back some control. as if this one no rectifies all the other morals/ethics she's broken thus far.

on amani's own nonsense

what i've come to realize as i develop amani as a character is that many of the situations she finds herself in can be summed up as 'it was hehe haha till it wasn't.' her outlook on the competition itself is annoyingly pragmatic, at least to her fellow competitors. there can only be one winner. what's the harm in making another jab at the others' rankings? oh, i've impressed the new head of diagnostics? let's see what i can get out of this. it's chaos she (in some aspects) unknowingly conjures up and eventually amplifies as things become more complicated. all that to say her stealing from big pharma isn't necessarily 'just another day in the life.' what really pushes her over the edge is the mutually assured destruction between her and ethan. now it's his turn to keep his shut. to look the other way. so, she moves ahead and brings jackie into the fold to cook up some nonsense.

amani's educational bg falls in line with both her friends and raf. i haven't locked in the full details for her undergrad years, but she does attend a community college before getting accepted into georgetown for med school. amani wouldn't have shame from going to a community college, but it'd be a lie to say she isn't also extremely proud to be a georgetown alumn. it's a source of validation for her-- made very apparent whilst gleefully swapping war stories over dinner. she can only relate to raf so much. i do think her conversation w/ him afterwards + their friendship overall makes her rethink how much stock she puts on going to a T20.
