Lots of rambly words under the readmore...
The brain is a muscle that needs exercise, lest parts of it risks deterioration.
I think about this whenever it seems hard to pick up a pen, or even scribble a few circles, especially like now when it's been maybe 2 or 3 months I've last truly drawn anything. Ideas come to me all the time. But some part of my mind gets worn out quick and I feel more inclined to roll into bed than I do to move a pen.
Anyways, art is hard. Always has been. Requires a sort of momentum to keep it going, like a big stone needing pushed if you want to progress it anywhere, with extra effort if you want it progressing uphill.
I get less "downtime" nowadays to mindlessly scribble on a sketchbook or sticky-note without seemingly going out of my way to do so, compared to when I first started this sketch dump blog and shared doodles made in between classes, or at my work desk when things were slow.
But the ideas keep coming. Many of which still stuck around. Some ambitious ones:
-Waffle and Pretzel learn about each other's social tolerances during a fall festival date. -Tuff, Mortar and Brick open an indie radio station against an encroaching FM monopoly. -Discovery by the NESA crew of Geiger, nickname for a radioactively mutated scientist locked in an underground facility. -Mauve's escape of her mundane daily life as a seaside city grocery chain clerk to go adventuring outdoors.
Probably won't ever get around to any of them, but ideas like those still come to me now and then.
