pitts was actually the first member of the group to meet neil, they met in kindergarten when pitts asked him to play in the sandpit together. ever since then, they have been inseparable.
he has broke two bones in his life
the first was his arm, he broke it when charlie dared him to jump off a cliff into a lake during their first springbreak together, safe to say it didn’t go well (at all)
the second was his nose, he broke it accidentally walking into a doorframe too hard when drunk.
his first kiss was actually meeks, they’d been alone, studying together and pitts off-handedly mentioned that he’d never kissed someone. so, meeks suggested they be eachothers first, and that’s the day pitts realised he was bisexual. (and also meeks, but he didn’t tell pitts til later on)
however, pitts first time was with a girl named cassie. they’d met when he went back home during the summer, and gotten along very quickly. he described it as awkward, confusing and long? to which many of the poets (mainly charlie) teased him for. they never saw eachother again much to pitts happiness as he was so embarrassed.
pitts loves to bake, like, it’s his favourite hobby. he’ll spend hours on end just reading different recipes and trying them out, forcing meeks and the rest of the boys to taste them, even bringing them along to the dead poets society meetings as snacks.
he is definitely the friend that makes sure you eat and drink enough water, constantly shouting (lovingly) at meeks for not sleeping enough: “i’m gonna fail latin if i don’t study!” “meeks you know more than the teacher, get to sleep now!”
he feels rather insecure about his writing, insisting it just isn’t a strength of his, he’s better at baking and building stuff. however, meeks pushes him to write, and eventually he reads an original piece at one of the meetings. it was the first time the boys had been stunned to silence out of awe.
ever since then, he’d note down little poems and ideas in a journal neil got him for christmas, often about things that happened to him or feelings he experienced.
if we are talking about a modern au, pitts would be the biggest swiftie in the group. taylor would 100% be nearly all of his playlist, forcing the boys to listen (and eventually fall in love with her too).
when neil died, pitts was completely lost. he had never lived his life without neil, he’d grown accustomed to a life with neil. he thought he’d always have neil. the day neil died, pitts said to meeks that: “i just lost a piece of myself”
after that, pitts and todd became the best of friends, each bonding over the lose of neil. pitts would invite todd to do everything with him and meeks. (if he was being honest, he didn’t wanna lose todd like he did neil)
this friendship continued after graduation, inviting him to every holiday (christmas, thanksgiving, halloween, birthdays, etc.) pitts saw todd as a literal ray of sunshine in his life, a friendship he valued greatly.
speaking of after graduation, the night before they graduated, meeks pulled pitts out in a rather panicked state. meeks had confessed that he loved him, more than friends, and before he could even finish his sentence pitts was already kissing him.
they moved into a small apartment together, decorating it with their numerous and endless inventions. they even got a cat (named neil), cause they felt as though dogs weren’t their style.
pitts and meeks got married in a small ceremony. just the other poets and a few other close friends, and of course their cat.
it was an outdoor wedding in august, cause both men are suckers for forests during that time of the year.
todd is the best man at their wedding and causes everyone to cry from his speech.
pitts leaves a seat free at the poets assigned table at his wedding. (it’s for neil, cause he knows in spirit, he’s there.)
