â KIHYUN WORE A SMUG SMILE. âLike I said, youâre not coming in without ID.â His eyes swept over Bambi condescendingly, feeling pleased at the fact that the power lay in his palms. He had only been manning the door for an hour and Kihyunâs patience had been stretched thin. He had been jostled from bodies taking shaky steps due to towering heels, splattered with the spittle of drunkards, and subjected to the lyrical recital of Tearinâ Up My Heart as if that would be enough to prove that they were of age. Yes, his temper was definitely threatening to flareâhowever, when the familiar figure appeared before him, his spirits lifted somewhat. The night had been BORING, and so denying Bambi entry would certainly serve to entertain him. He wouldnât say that he hated the other, he just despised the attitude they carried and the manner in which they presented themselves. It exuded entitlement, the typical ârich boyâ attitude, and Kihyun had little time for it. âI suggest you find somewhere else to go, yeah?â
Bambi had very little patience in general, but this was a lot. This was possibly more than he could take. The smugness on the others face, his tone, it was enough to want to make Bambi want to turn to violence. Â But he withheld, manicured nails pressing into his palms. âIâve never needed an ID before,â Bambi huffed, his body tense with annoyance. Kihyun really had been known to get the best of the club owner, though. Vivid images of their mutual attempts to drown one another on a golf course flashing through his mind and really, at that moment, he really wished that heâd succeeded.
Before Bambi had met the front of the queue, the line was loud, unruly, as was what was to be expected when Bâs was one of the most popular clubs in all of New York. However, when the bouncer had denied him entry, things went silent. Everyone knew the poised club owner. The way he skipped lines. The way he drank in excess and then disappeared into the VIP lounge, never to be seen until the following day. Bambi Han was an institution and people knew good and well what an institutions rage and anger looked like when they didnât get their way.
âIâll give you one more chance to let me in before I have your job,â Bambi said calmly, his face set, his bare shoulders set against the cold. He eyed Kihyun with a sort of defiance that generally put other workers of his in their place. He briefly wondered if anyone had told him about the owner and how they came and went as he pleasedâbut also there were very few people who didnât know of Bambi. They could only assume that the other was being a pain out of spite and nothing more.
âIâll give you until the count of three and youâll hop off your high horse and Iâll go into my club, yeah?â
