does your muse ever get jealous over dumb things even if it’s in another verse they just “[ points ] THAT’S MY FUCKING PERSON”
“I’m pretty sure it can be implied,” Cassie said with a shrug. She raised her eyebrow at the comment that followed. “I mean, a little. Enough to get by when my parents go out of town. Why?”
A wolf-like grin curled her mouth and Iliya’s gaze held mischief as she regarded the brunette. “I’m new to town so I’m not gonna make y’cook or nothin’ but a little help findin’ some good places to eat would be much appreciated.”
‘ What d’you fancy, huh? Ain’t a whole lot I can cook, and the café’s closed, but I can make some real mean grilled cheese and– uh, that’s about it. Hey, I’m willin’ to learn, just to pay you back for bein’ my makeshift table, though. Can’t be too hard if you’ve got a recipe, y’know? ’
“ You have no idea. ” Iliya had read through recipe after recipe and no matter how she might try, the end result never looked remotely like the pictures and they didn’t taste much better, either. She tapped a finger against her chin in thought, a list of food she loved already forming in her head. “ Can y’make chicken pasta and grilled cheese? And maybe like...I don’t know some sort of cheese potato thing? ”
“I feel like food was definitely implied in there.”
“ Food can’t just be implied, it has to be,” she waved a hand as if summoning the right word from the air, “explicitly stated. D’ya cook, by chance? ” Iliya tried for subtle to the best of her abilities.
‘ You name it, you got it. Fair’s fair. ’
“ Seriou- I mean, yeah. Fair is totally fair. ”
A broad grin met her lips and without preamble or pause, she blurted out exactly what she wanted from the man. “ Food! ” If loyalty could be bought, she’d betray everyone-- save her brother-- for the promise of good food for the rest of her life. The girl had to rely on her own cooking for so long, she forgot what real food tasted like and her mouth watered at the prospect of being fed.
“ Wrong move, guy. ”
“Girls don’t want boyfriends. Girls want to stay in and watch animal documentaries.”
“ And food. Above all, food is the greatest thing ever. ”
‘ fine, you want me to be honest ?? your entire get up is god fucking awful. a sin really. ‘
“ Y’think so? I was really feeling the lumberjack vibe. ”
open.
‘ Okay, okay– two more seconds, then I stop usin’ your back as a table, I promise. I just gotta… write… this… real… There. You’re free. ’
“ Thank you. Now let’s discuss payment for the use of my back. ”
“Here, kitty, kitty.” The demon comes to a stop in the middle of the room, cold eyes serving as a disturbing juxtaposition to his jovial tone as his gaze searches out all the nooks and crannies that the object of his current attentions could be hiding in. “Hide and seek was fun at first, but it’s getting boring. You know I hate to be bored. You’re just making things worse for yourself.”
Kitty....kitty.... A moment passes, Iliya’s lip curls up at the offense, and she is once more at risk of revealing herself. She wants to bring out her claws and fangs, wants to fight him, but she knows better, even a hotheaded wolf could tell when not to attack. Especially without a pack. Seconds tick slower than her heart beats and time intends to be a bitch to her. Fuck it. (She’s got this.) No preamble, no thoughts, only sharp edged words join her as she tackles him. “ M’not a fuckin’ cat. ”
Like a drug, having her would always lead to addiction, or death.

“Probably question it for a while, and after a bit, I would decide to check it out”
“ That’s the worst decision, it could be haunted by ghosts. ”
“I’m going to say yes, I am”
“ Then when someone tells you something is haunted what do you do? ”
“ You’re a fan of your own life are you not? ”

“Well I’m sorry, Li.” He groaned pulling on a shirt he heard a thump. For a second he was worried getting into the room quicker then he meant to.
“What - what did you, did you,” a laugh came through as he realized what she was on the floor. “Wow why are you being clumsy all of the sudden?”
“Something is wrong.” She yanked the cord from the plug in on the wall and tossed it towards the vacuum. Her knee still hurt, the foreign pain grating on her nerves. Nothing like landing on her knee had ever been this painful or lasted so long before. She felt more...human. And angry. So very, very angry. Especially when her brother was laughing at her.
“Fuckin’ quit.” She shoved his shoulder when she moved past him to get to the window. “I’m tellin’ you somethin’ is wrong.”

Zeke’s head throbbed as he tried to go to bed. Something was wrong - terribly wrong and he hoped it wasn’t sickness again. Still he couldn’t be help but be annoyed. Still he tried to keep the annoyance out of his voice.
“Li - Yeah Iliya I’m here. What’s wrong? Are you done cleaning?”
“I’d have been done a fuckin’ hour ago, if you’da helped me.” Iliya hollered back, forgetting that she’d called him in the first place because she felt funny. Now all she felt was off, angry and frustrated, unable to figure out what was going on with her. She tried to extend her claws and found that she couldn’t, her hands remaining pathetically human.
“What the fuck is-” she grumbled and went to go to Zeke’s room only her foot caught on the vacuum cleaner’s cord and she fell, ungracefully to the floor. Normally, she’d have recovered but her reflexes were slower. “Damn it!” Her knee hit the floor and it hurt. “Fuck.” She got up. “Zeke! Come. Here.”
