Nagito picks up the letter on his step with curiosity. He has no idea who would write to him or why.
As he opens it, he feels a sense of disappointment wash over him, though the negative words aren’t anything he would disagree with. Considering he’s already convinced himself the world hates him, he’s all but unfazed. But who is it from?
// // // // // //
There’s a snicker from Hinata somewhere far away, and he could only assume it was inaudible enough that Komaeda wouldn’t hear it. He doesn’t see much of a reaction, which drops his mood, but it’s not that he won’t try again. Though, maybe…
He pauses, before deciding to emerge from his hiding space as quickly as he can to avoid detection and walks quickly over to Komaeda. Maybe revealing it was him would make it fun..?
“Komaeda~~!” He calls out, a sing-song voice being the one to lead it. “Hey! Komaaaeedaa! Come here!
“I’ve got something to tell you!”
@hopecrazed
Nagito raises his eyebrows. “…yes? What is it?”
He walks in Hinata’s direction, wary of the strange tone of voice.
He smiles, and points to the note. Blunt, he pokes it, and says, “I wrote it.” the smile seems to get bigger–what kind of a person is this?–as he continues, “Do you like it?
“It's from the heart.”
HOPECRAZED //
Nagito hesitated for many reasons. The way Hinata was looking at him was making him wonder if he really wanted to hang out with him. There was also the fact that this sickness was draining him. And he didn’t need someone finding out what was going on. He coughed into his fist.
“…are you sure you want to spend time with me?” Even as he asked it, he slipped out the door carefully, trying to close it before Hinata could see the mess inside. He stood in front of the door and tilted his head at Hinata. “You didn’t need to go out of your way for me.”
// // // // // //
“I’m sure,” he gives a slow nod. Hinata doesn’t seem to believe himself, much, a part of him still asking if he really has talked to everyone else. “It’s fine, though. It doesn’t take that long to walk here and back.”
“Do you want to go?” he tilts his head. “I won’t push you, though.”
After a moment, Nagito agreed. If Hinata had gone through all the trouble to see him, who was he to refuse?
“Alright, Hinata-kun. Let’s go.” He nodded toward the beach, hands in his pockets as he began to walk at a moderate pace, not looking at Hinata.
He could get through this–he just had to make sure to control his cough. Somehow.
“Ah--” he hadn't really expected him to agree. Which, while relieving, was a surprise as well. “-coming!” Though, he shouldn't dwell over it. He walks after Komaeda, a bit fast in the first few steps, before walking at a similar pace.
“You've been in the cabin for a while,” he starts, a bit nervous to ask. He shouldn't be the nervous one, is what he thinks. “and that incident at breakfast–are you... feeling okay?”
