Rankin's Rubbish
Rankin has always has a fascination with minute elements, and the details that emerge when you look at something closely. For Rankin’s Rubbish, he took inspiration from Irving Penn’s still life images of cigarette butts and other discarded items, elevating objects from mundane to worthy of admiration.

An extraordinary artist who too uses the everyday to create sculpture and installations.
She refers to her work as 'Interventions in the institutionalised everyday,' like myself seeing my practice as a series of intervention on the world around me.
Example of one of her interventions.

Displaying Rubbish Films
I feel that because my practice is heavily object based that the fact I've used Mac computers to display my Rubbish Film that they may influence the context of the films.
They are available computer that I haven't had to buy, but I think I'm generally put off by the Apple logo.
This issue of branding is something I have explored with Cleansing by painting and disguising the identity of the object with white paint and perhaps that idea of mass produced object with the 5 Mac computers could work in with favour, emphasising that idea of production in contemporary culture, creating more stuff and as a result more waste.
There is something similar or something that reminds me of works by Haim Steinbach, perhaps its the use of shelf or the series or exact same computers.

Final Exhibition Space Layout
For the assessment I kept a white stage of the Cleansing objects as many still need to be painted white and also the objects wont be placed back to their original locations till the day or day before the opening of the exhibition.
Series of Mac computers, continuously playing the Rubbish films, though for assessment I was think about using these to display film and recorded processes form throughout the year.
For now I've decide to place the maps here, in between the two walls, I like the ordering of them though I may change their potion after assessment.
And also the collection of receipts in the corridor on the wall behind my series of Mac computers.
