a small entry of a scenario I wrote for my 2nd the pitt dr script ᵀᵂ I write in third person cause like this I can keep control of the whole scenario, also if there’s any mistake, please keep in mind I’m dyslexic :)
JULY 4TH, 4 P.M. [ 1.8k words — 1:25 ~ min read]
The light was dim in the hospital room, the steady beeping of machines filling the space together with Emma and Abby’s breathing.
“She’s so small,” the nurse was the first to break the silence, her eyes fixed on Baby Jane Doe. Abby listened quietly to the baby’s heartbeat with a stethoscope, a soft smile on her lips. “That’s because you’ve never seen a heart this small up close,” was a normal comment, the one that leaves your mouth before thinking, and then she though. “I mean, I hope you never have to, but it is really small.” She let out a slightly embarrassed chuckle, and Emma mimicked it, not embarrassed, just self conscious.
“Will she get a home?” Abby turned to grab something from the nearby table and shrugged. It was impossible to know, she liked to believe she would, but either way “I hope so,” she said, smiling as she looked back at Emma. “Everyone deserves a home.”
Silence settled over the room again. It wasn’t uncomfortable, just quiet enough that Emma felt the need to say something and fill it. “Are you going to watch the fireworks tonight?” Abby let out a small laugh. “Definitely not.”
“You don’t like them?”
“Oh, I do,” Abby said with a nod, still focused on the baby resting in the hospital crib. “I just don’t have anyone to go with. I like to think doing things alone can be empowering, but watching Fourth of July fireworks by yourself is just… depressing.”
Emma nodded. She didn’t have anyone either, not that she minded much, she didn’t even like the event enough to go, still, she spoke before she could second-guess herself, the words slipping from her tongue in an act of confidence and something more stupid.
“Do you want to go to the park and watch them? You and Me?”
Abby turned, static for a moment as if she was caught off guard. Then she smiled, a real smile, and maybe a faint sight of blush on her cheeks “Yeah,” she said. “Yeah, I’d like that.”

“Oh shit, it’s Dr. Fairy Hands” Trinity exclaimed, weaving past a few nurses to get closer to the small crowd forming in the corridor.
“Dr. who?” Emma asked, clearly confused. She hadn’t been working there long, but she’d never heard that name before. Dr. Santos must have noticed, because she stopped in her tracks and turned to the RN. “Abby Anderson. She’s a ped surgeon, which means she only comes down here when some really serious shit is going on with a kid.”
Emma stayed where she was, watching the cluster of colleagues gathered around a tall blonde figure as if she were a celebrity. Big blue eyes, a bright easy smile, Emma’s heart did a small loop and she could swear her cheeks went hot. She had never heard of Dr. Fairy Hands before, but suddenly, she was very interested in learning everything she could about the captivating figure.
