Awesome Job Opportunity!
there is a great job opportunity for all you mac-savvy people out there! visit http://www.updc.org/employment/ for more details.
Free 1 Year Amazon Prime Membership for College Students
I may be in the minority that didn't know about this, but HERE's an awesome deal for students: If you have a .EDU email address, you're eligible for 1 year of Amazon Prime for free, which gives you free 2 day shipping on most everything.
If you're a BYU student, you probably don't have a .edu address already, so you'll need to go to the communications tab of Route Y and pick E-Mail alias manager. Follow the instructions to create a "@studentbody.byu.edu" alias that forwards to your regular email. After that, you'll be ready to go.
Free iWeb Hosting via Dropbox
This Post about using Dropbox to host a simple web page is simply perfect. I've never had mobile me, so iWeb kinda just sat there. I was able to create a simple splash page for all of my accounts (Twitter etc.) in about half an hour. It'll work for any simple website that won't be getting lots of traffic. If you're looking to set up your own website but not wanting to pay for hosting it's worth looking into.
Tax Free Macs and iPads at the BYU Bookstore!
The BYU Bookstore will pay your sales tax the Friday after Thanksgiving on all Macs and iPads!
Excellent (if somewhat lengthy) piece on the history of Apple tablets (most of which were never made)
Stay Tuned
We're excited that there are going to be a lot of changes to the site over the next several weeks! Stay tuned for the latest from the BYU Mac User's Group.
MUG Reviews: Calvetica
Welcome to the first of what will hopefully become many reviews from your friends at MUG. Today's app is Calvetica Calendar, by Mysterious Trousers, LLC.
There are dozens and dozens of productivity and to-do apps in the app store and each has its own way of doing things. Some, like Things, have a companion desktop app. Others use a third-party solution like Toodledo to sync items. Calvetica takes a different approach. Calvetica is a full function calendar app that ties directly into your iPhone's calendar, thus eliminating the need for any sort of syncing solution besides iTunes. If you're like me, and all of your planning happens on the go, Calvetica can be an indispensable tool for your sanity. Calvetica is very clean and beautiful, and behaves much more like stock Calendar app should behave. Adding events and changing your plans on the go is no longer an experience akin to having teeth pulled. It can be done in just two taps. However, the app can take a little getting used to, and sometimes it's not apparent how to do something. Luckily a recent update added a help menu for when you're stuck.
The bottom line is this: if you are already a very organized person who plans everything in iCal and then simply sync to your phone, Calvetica's usefulness may be limited. However if you, like me, seem to plan in small moments of time (while walking between classes, for instance), Calvetica is extremely useful at helping you get in, get done, and get back to life. I've been using Calvetica for about a month and it's replaced almost exclusively every other productivity app on my phone. Calvetica Calendar is available on the app store for $2.99. If you'd like to test it out, it is also available in a "narrow" free version with fewer features.

if this is the next Apple TV, I'd mortgage my house to get one.
So, Apple didn't test the iPhone 4 before releasing it? Somehow a multi-million dollar test facility tells me different.
Check it out!
