URGENT! If you're in Colorado, please, please be careful! If you know any trans men or transmasc people who might be in Colorado soon, please let them know about this. If you know any trans or LGBTQ+ groups, community centers, etc. in Colorado, make sure they're aware!
If you're cis, it's encouraged that you reblog this. Just spreading the word is a great opportunity to be an ally.
WTF
NOT KIDDING GUYS BE VERY CAREFUL HERE ARE SOME SCREENSHOTS OF CONVERSATIONS THIS DICK HAD WITH AN LGBT ACCT ON IINSTAGRAM
Be very very very very very careful my dudes and please stay safe
UPDATE:
This guy hellsing_ultimate700 deleted his account and started a new one under the name of axel_van_hellsing. Spread the word and stay safe!!!
I hate to reblog something like this onto a blog thatās supposed to be a safe space, but I want as many people to see it as possible
OP 9/26/19
!!!UPDATE!!!!
Now going by four_string_dude
Hey everyone, stop and think before you reblog this uncritically.
Are the first screenshots upsetting? Yes. Clearly hellsing_ultimate700 is a creep and a predator.
But āAxel Helmigā appears to be a random bassist in Germany who has never been to Colorado. The āfour_strings_dudeā Instagram account has been active for months, before those screenshots of āhellsing_ultimate700ā were taken, and his account is used to like pictures of his German friends and familyāno evidence that heās ever followed or interacted with any of the trans man bodybuilding instagrams that the āhellsing_ultimate700ā guy did.
Is there any reason AT ALL to believe that these accounts are in any way affiliated? I canāt find any. @bi-bii-biii do you have any evidence for why you believe they are the same person, other than having the same first name and might think a Bram Stoker character is cool?
The display photo for āhellsing_ultimate700ā looks like this, and might be stolen in the first place:
While Axel the German bassist looks like this:
The first man lacks tattoos and seems to have a longer, older face with a wider septum and upturned lips, and has no shoulder tattoos. They donāt look like the same person to me. I think Axel Helmig/four_strings_dude is just some random guy whose face and name are now being dragged through the mud by panicking people.
In any case, as always, be careful who you sleep with, use protection, donāt trust strangers any further than you can throw them even if they are Your Type and say all the right things, get yourselves tested regularly, and donāt let stories of one predator turn you into another serophobic jerk peddling dangerous stereotypes about people with HIV.
Guys please spread only the original post and NOT the version adding this random German guyās Instagram. It makes no sense that this could be the same person and there is no credible evidence that this guy is involved at all. Theyāre obviously not the same person! Youāre stalking and harassing and calling for the death of a random guy whoās been misidentified based on a random tumblr userās assumption. Stop! Think! Internet vigilantism can easily victimize innocent people! It doesnāt help to spread misinformation!

Some of the earliest depictions of dreadlocks date back as far as 3600 years to theĀ Minoan Civilization, one of Europeās earliest civilizations, centred inĀ CreteĀ (now part ofĀ Greece).Ā FrescoesĀ discovered on theĀ Aegean islandĀ ofĀ TheraĀ (modernĀ Santorini, Greece) depict individuals with braided hair styled in long dreadlocks.
InĀ ancient Egypt, examples of Egyptians wearing locked hairstyles andĀ wigsĀ have appeared onĀ bas-reliefs, statuary and other artifacts. Mummified remains of ancient Egyptians with locked wigs have also been recovered from archaeological sites.
During theĀ Bronze AgeĀ andĀ Iron Age, many peoples in theĀ Near East,Ā Asia Minor,Ā Caucasus,Ā East MediterraneanĀ andĀ North AfricaĀ such as theĀ Sumerians,Ā Elamites, Ancient Egyptians,Ā Ancient Greeks,Ā Akkadians,Ā Assyrians,Ā Babylonians,Ā Hittites,Ā Amorites,Ā Mitanni,Ā Hattians,Ā Hurrians,Ā Arameans,Ā Eblaites,Ā Israelites,Ā Phrygians,Ā Lydians,Ā Persians,Ā Medes,Ā Parthians,Ā Chaldeans,Ā Armenians,Ā Georgians,Ā CiliciansĀ andĀ Canaanites/Phoenicians/CarthaginiansĀ are depicted in art with braided or plaited hair and beards.
Dreadlocks are one of the earliest known Human hairstyles, it can be found dating back thousands of years in various cultures from the Americas to Australia, it can be found in every culture of every continent.
To the people claiming that dreadlocks are uniquely a non-white hairstyle I say you are not only ignorant of human history but of cultural development as a whole, you take offense from white people using Dreadlocks simply for racist reasons, claiming they canāt despite the hair style being prevalent across Europe for thousands of years most likely originating in pre-bronze age civilizations across the globe, itās the same phenomena that allowed most of humanity to master fire at the same time, a type of convergence of progress(I actually forget the name of the phenomena).
@littledemonlorne you really need to reevaluate your view of cultures and the wider world, your perception is a narrow and quite frankly a nonsensical one.
Dreadlocks, alsoĀ locs,Ā dreads, or inĀ Sanskrit,Ā Jaį¹Ä,Ā are ropelike strands of hair formed byĀ mattingĀ or braiding hair. Dreadlocks can also be formed through a technique called ātwist and ripā, as well asĀ backcombingĀ and rolling.
This is what dreadlocks are, and the cunt blocked me.

An Area X Rec List
If you loved Jeff VanderMeerās Southern Reach trilogy as much as I did, hereās some similar-in-spirit media that Iāve come across over the last few years. This rec list includes novels, short stories, nonfiction books and articles, a few films, and multimedia projects, with heavy emphasis on dark ecology, novel ecosystems, and New Weird literature. Iāve included PDFs where Iāve been able to find them online and indicated them with an asterisk below.
Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā ***
Fiction
Roadside Picnic*, by Arkady and Boris Strugatsky. A classic of Soviet science fiction, eerily prescient pre-Chernobyl, and a direct inspiration for Area X.
Borne, by Jeff VanderMeer. Set in a different world than the Southern Reach trilogy, this book nonetheless contains shapeshifters, bizarre biotech, and landscapes that arenāt at all what they seem. (Dark Tower fans will get a kick out of this one.)
Radiance, by Catherynne M. Valente. An alternate universe where Old Hollywood colonizes the solar system, wherein a young filmmaker sets out to determine what caused reality to go terribly wrong on Venus and goes missing herself.
Sweetheart of the Song Tra Bong*, from Tim OāBrienās The Things They Carried. A war story about how to tell a war story and a nice midwestern girl turning into something else entirely in Vietnam.Ā
The Long Rain*, by Ray Bradbury. Another short story about a group of people stranded in an alien jungle, this time on another world.
The New Weird, an anthology edited by Jeff and Ann VanderMeer.
Nonfiction
The World Without Us, by Alan Weisman. If all of humanity disappeared overnight, how would the rest of the planet respond, recover, or be permanently marked?
Ecology Without Nature, by Timothy Morton. Heavy-duty ecological philosophy on how and why thereās no such thing as aĀ āpristine wildernessā and how we can rethink our relationships with whatās left of the natural world in the Anthropocene ā whatever that means.
The Mushroom at the End of the World, by Anna Lowenhaupt Tsing. An exploration of the ecological and human networks bound by the matsutake mushroom across continents and in the face of ecological destruction.
Weird Ecology: On The Southern Reach Trilogy, by David Tompkins. The article that first introduced me to Timothy Mortonās writing on hyperobjects and dark ecology, connecting it to The Southern Reach Trilogy, Lovecraft, and other New Weird themes.
Dark Ecology, by Paul Kingsnorth. An essay questioning what even counts asĀ ānatureā in the Anthropocene, how it is valued, and how to begin to get our heads around it in the first place.
Multimedia
The Babushkas of Chernobyl (2015). A documentary about the community of elderly women who continue to live within the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone, focusing on the connections between landscapes, hazards, and where people call home.
Stalker (1979), a film by Andrei Tarkovsky. Based on Roadside Picnic ā beautiful and very atmospheric.
Princess Mononoke (1999). AĀ classic Miyazaki film about human-environmental conflict and ecological devastation brought on by industrial progress.
The Dark Ecology Project. A multi-year experimental art and writing project that brings researchers and artists to the edge of the Arctic Circle to study a zone along the Russian-Finnish border split between heavy industry and pristine wilderness. Very much worth checking out the creative works that have been produced through these trips.

Enjoy, and try not to breathe in any glowing spores in the meantime.
Do you have advice on drawing backgrounds with characters?
First, donāt imagine backgrounds asĀ ābackgrounds,ā like some kind of giant placard you place behind characters on a stageplay. Think of them asĀ āenvironments!ā A place where your characters interact, make conversation, eat food, sleep, grab stuff, jump around on, fight, etc. The environment is just as important to the visuals as the characters, nobody exists in a void.Ā
The most important thing to do is to plan to draw the character(s) IN the background/environment, not as an afterthought.
I also like imagining myself as a cinematographer in my own comic, somebody with a camera, who is on the set with the characters. I think about the best way toĀ āshootā the characters doing what theyāre doing based on what theyāre doing and the tone. Is it a happy scene? A sad scene? I also think about the environment theyāre in and what are some interesting ways to frame the character.
Iāll give a quick and dirty example. Say you Character1 is waiting at a bus stop. Itās a very boring and normal bus stop. Itās got a bush, a tree and a bus sign on a sidewalk.Ā
Not a very exciting drawing, but it establishes what Character1 is doing and where at. Notice I used the underside of the tree and the bus sign to make a littleĀ āwindowā around Character1ā²s head. It puts the viewerās attention right on them. But what if Character1 is really anxious? How would you convey that?
Now, theĀ ācameraā moved to the side. It puts Character1 more on the bottom-left corner of the drawing, making them look more on edge. Once again, notice that I used the tree, bush, and sign to frame around Character1.
Now the camera is behind the bush AND tree, so weāre now looking at Character1ā²s back. Maybe you donāt want people to know what Character1 is thinking.Ā
Or what if Character1 is having an existential crisis while waiting for the bus? Here, Iām shooting upward on them and dutch angled the drawing (which means tilting the camera) to give it a jarring, disoriented feeling.Ā
These are just some ways to draw the environment with the characters in it. And note, this works best if youāre doing comics or storyboarding, but it might not be necessarily true for some illustration styles. This is just the way I do it. :)
