I love how Between Two Fires- possibly the scariest book I have ever read- also has all this really charming fanart here on Tumblr and the funny thing is it is in no way unlike the book. Between Two Fires is also a really sweet book 'neath the terror

There is an interesting essay in wondering when Calypso became a black chick in popular consciousness. Because Calypso is a black chick in my head right? But Homer says she is blonde, so why do I think Calypso is black? My girlfriend, the lovely @bilgewaters-fortune, her theory is that when Americans picture Calypso's island we picture like a fantasy version of Jamaica or Trinidad where there's no issues, and I think that might be it, because if Ogygia is a wonderful Caribbean paradise island it stands to reason that the goddess of that island would be a lovely Caribbean lady

finally finished reading Between Two Fires (a good read) and this line made me sit back and just stare around the park for a few minutes
