An ambience backing track for the documentary I have composed. It’s mood could be described as “melancholy” in that it evokes emotions with no particular reason for feeling moody/sad. I love using such emotional score with beautiful shots of scenery as it feels like nature itself evokes a sense of melancholy. Watching mountains, sitting at a beach, in open green fields with storm clouds above, these grand scenic locations all evoke a sense of loneliness. I have tried to capture that sentiment in the score.

The main theme for Tomaree. I have composed this after visiting Mount Tomaree for a scout. The landscape has inspired me to write this original piece. Note that the strings volumes ‘undulate’ like rolling hills and mountains. There is also flute arpeggios to emulate a bird’s tweeting. Timpani rolls further build upon the soundscape by acting as crashing waves and the roar of wind.

I have finished composing the various cues for the Tomaree Original Score. I have written roughly 5 pieces so far, each around 40 seconds to a minute long to be edited in as backing for the documentary. All pieces have also been mixed now.

The Interstellar Soundtrack is a huge inspiration for me in composing my own score for Tomaree: An Ancient Summit. Although I would like the score to be unique, I am exciting to draw elements from my favourite composer, Hans Zimmer, into my own work to make our documentary a lot more unique.
