i wonder if i should start posting my speedpaints? maybe make a separate blog for it? i kind of want somewhere to dump it all on, but i'm trying to figure out where. would anyone even care for speedpaints anymore? i'm not up to date with this aspect of the art community.
BSD 109 SPOILERS
for what is a monster, if not greedy?
a guilty pleasure. death can be peaceful. but would you be able to rest? surely, you knew. no, surely, you know.
i think abt the fact L used B's alias "rue ryuzaki" way too much to not be considered a brainrot
The whole idea that L ‘takes’ the names of people he’s defeated is SO interesting to me. (We can debate if L really “won” in the B situation, but lets for simplicity). It’s such an intimate way to show ownership over those you defeated. It’s also a type of consumption. L is very much someone who considers himself to have a mutable identity, specifically name wise. The amount of aliases he has! But it seems that each alias isnt exactly a character that L is playing. They are ALL him. (At least I read it this way).
I dont know, its just fascinating to think of L as this person so strangely desperate for connection or identity or SOMETHING to define himself against that he starts collecting names and identities. For some reason it makes me picture a spider taking apart another insect. Does that make any sense to anyone other than me? Becoming, taking on, but also destroying the source of the name… or at least refitting, re-tailoring the identity to better suit L.
In an ‘L wins over Light’ au, I wonder if L would take his name in some way. I think he would. The name Light Yagami would certainly not be released to the public after the Kira case if we are taking into account how little governments tell us about well.. anything. In my mind, Light would be executed quietly, or kept prisoner. (Would L argue to keep him? Ask for him as payment for the case? It’s possible.) I just keep thinking about the utter humiliation for Light if L were to keep him around, and yet use Light’s name as another one of his aliases. Light is still alive, and STILL L has managed to take a ‘trophy’…
In the context of death note specifically names MEAN so much. They give you the power of life and death over someone. One also wonders which name would really kill L if written in the death note? What does L consider his real name? Does he even HAVE a name he feels bound up enough in? Anyway. I was just thinking……….
this is an interesting take.
L is a monster. he was never "good" and i'm so over people claiming he's the "good guy", like baby, he even admitted it himself. he devours entire people and crawls inside their skin. he purposefully pushes every single button he could and takes whatever's within his reach and makes them his.
he's arguably just as bad as light is. "L doesn't kill people", by his own hands, no. (and if your standard of "killing people" is having done it yourself like stabbing or choking, then light didn't kill anyone. the notebook did.) but if it's for a case, you cannot tell me he wouldn't let someone die. i can honestly write separate essays on this topic.
honestly, L is one of my favorite characters to do (and have done) analysis on. i relate to him a lot in a concerning amount of ways.

i skimmed re-read DN: another note about a month ago and this naomi misora and B drawing idea has been living in its own private villa on my rotting brain for about 2 weeks now and i just can't bring myself to transfer said idea to the canvas,, oh how i love being an artist
i honestly need to stop doodling misa so much this is ridiculous
I saw some who said it should be reversed so I wanted to add:
- L is more apathetic than concerned
- Light is flexing false confidence convincing himself he can get out of this but is actually on the verge of a mental breakdown
