Will do more in the future, like my goat Hermes, Calypso, Clytemnestra, Zeus and Poseidon, and even that asshole twink Achilles and his buff boyfriend Patrocles (I will also draw the trojan because I love them very very much)

Many will claim the newest Odyssey is the director's best work at showing women's role in comparison to his other films. I will say otherwise knowing full well the deep complexity they have in the book instead:

Penelope -> a devoted loyal wife who uses her cunning mind to trick 100 suitors for 3 years, try to hold her kingdom together, protect her son, all while in the end managing to even outsmart Odysseus showing she's equal to him

Nolan!Penelope -> no trick, almost kisses Antinoos, argues constantly with Telemachus "how hard it is for a woman to rule" while doing nothing about it, she says one thing, while doing the next, no bed reunion that outsmarts Odysseus, she feels just hopeless and waiting for something to happen

Athena -> constantly on Odysseus side, tries to guide and save him, is a good protector to him and his family, she's also complex with her inner goals, has unmistakable presence, authority that draws respect and admiration

Nolan! Athena-> plot twist she's not the goddess in the end, but a hallucination to Odysseus because he was traumatized seeing a trojan girl get decapitated in front of him, so her presence is a PTSD of a trojan victim marketing to the audience as the real goddess for clickbait

Circe -> daughter of literal Helios, surrounded by nymphs, smart, alluring, manipulative beautiful, powerful witch you dont want to mess with, that Odysseus needed the help of Hermes to trick her

Nolan!Circe -> alone Scandinavian looking witch in a medieval hut, no aura, the script removes her smart nature, she's just a hopeless scared woman who screams "all men are pigs" to justify her turning men into animals. Also transformed Pasiphae into a bird because she says men hurt her. Nolan makes women be victims constantly with no depth

Helen -> more than her beauty, the poem highlight her cunning nature, she's observing and methodical, speaks her mind, tries to find a solution to her problems, managed to survive and live with her husband, healing both from the traumas of war

Nolan!Helen -> has her face sliced by Menelaus for drama effect, she's spoken like an object, put on a "leash", is afraid to speak her mind, gets dismissed, the audience sees helen as a victim of an oppressive loveless marriage who'll live a miserable life

Clytemnestra -> well written character who you understand her reasons but also condemn them when her revenge had her family ruined, her dismissing of her other kids for the shake of revenge is her ultimate downfall. A poetically tragic character with layers

Nolan! Clytemnestra-> gets seconds of screen time, kills the husband, the end.

Calypso -> beautiful goddess who exploits her power to hold hostage a man for almost a decade, her actions becomes predatory, showing a rare case of the woman becoming the hunter while the man is the victim of SA.

Nolan! Calypso -> she's a forgettable character that gaslights Odysseus but other than that no conflict despite using lotus to make Odysseus forget his past or that time has past.

Not to mention the bare screen of Melantho and Eurycleia that don't have much to show PLUS the removal of other women such as Nausicaa​,Arete (Nausicaa's mother) ,​Anticlea (Odysseus's mother)

so christopher nolan drilled into an active historical site to rig a scene, dumped a bunch of plastic skeletons into the ocean with no plan to fish them out, and ruined an actual Viking ship on loan from sweden and refuses to pay for damages. all for that garbage movie.
