I love looking at people making Percabeth edits while after (SPOILERS BOOK 4 & 5) literally Annabeth kissed Percy, that kid left for like 2 weeks to some kind of “Love island” to flirt with Calypso AND he considered staying with her because “she was so naturally pretty”. Boy wanted the manic pixie dream girl, but then, he went back, didn’t speak to Annabeth for like a week and THEN he was like ,,let’s just call my girl best friend to save us”!?. So he basically said ,,Sorry babe, but my GIRLBSF is better at YOUR craft”!! Are you kidding me!?

And then he, I shit you not, considered inviting Rachel to his bday party, but NOT ANNABETH?! And then, he DIDNT speak to Annabeth for like a YEAR?! But was still bff 🤞 with Rachel!! COME ON.

And that’s not even the worst part

Rachel just, like, kissed him before he left to save the world and he was just like ,,😃👍”?? (And he saw her in bikinis..)

I’m not shitting on Rachel. I personally kind of love her. I’m just saying that our son is a playboy and I’m tired of pretending he is not.

Do you remember that one camp “counselor”? I mean, he wasn't a "counselor" because he was just an older camper, but he practically was because he helped everyone. He was kind, helpful, hardworking and joyful. He never judged, and there were such rays of kindness in his eyes. He played football with little boys and wore beaded bracelets that little girls from the younger groups made for him. He wasn't afraid when his girl friends did his braids or makeup. And even then he seemed so perfectly boyish. He was such a great big brother to the kids, and he looked so cool around the campfire sitting with friends his own age. He always helped. Always. He carried suitcases for the younger campers. He hugged someone who was crying. He talked to misfits. He never judged. Never. He was appreciated by the coaches for his merits, but he was also so modest. He was the one who dressed your wound if you fell while playing. He was the one who resolved conflicts, even when it came to the division of cleaning. He was the perfect example of how every boy should behave. And really, how EVERYONE should behave. And even if you didn't like LIKE him, you felt stressed talking to him because he was so cool. So much older, taller and cooler. And you admired him. Because everyone admired him. Because how can you not admire him?

Can we all see how Athena blaming Annabeth for Percy’s antics is a representation of real problems in the real world? That today's girls have it harder than boys? That daughters have it harder than sons? Girls have to try much harder to be recognized as valuable. There is a reason why there are posts like "My father is the worst man in the world - and I am his favorite daughter". There is a reason why people talk about how strict mothers are with their daughters. How they push them around, even though the son does much less. NOT WITHOUT REASON when SA is talked about is it said , "or did she not tempt him?". Not without reason. These are the realities. And I’m pretty sure Riordan is aware
