Had to listen to a woman today tell me to drink a special kind of tea that will cure my diabetes. Apparently it MUST work because no one in her family has diabetes and they all drink it.

As a T1D - I use to get mad when someone would tell me what to eat.
I still do........... but I used to too.
âThatâs great that you understand Diabetes because your Nana had itâ
Said no T1 ever!
Diabetic Sext
Him: What are you wearing?
Me: My insulin pump ;)
T1D Rock Star - Getting High all night
Some days you canât get up in the morning, cause your sugar has been high all night
You feel like you have been out binge drinking with Mick Jagger in the 1970, but you have only been in bed, but you didn't really rest.
Some days you just feel like crying in the morning, cause it hurts. It hurts that you are young and are this sick, and your eyes hurt from the sugar, and crying feels good.
Then you finish crying and become a rock star for the rest of the day. You are fucken tough, and this pain doesnt stop you. You move through it.
Reblog for something nice in your ask box :)
Calling all diabetics specifically.
Being a diabetic is hard and little messages make me smile, so reblog this and Iâll send you something.

I used to be uncomfortable with checking my blood sugar and giving myself insulin in public. Now I will just do it anywhere because I shouldnât have to hide what I need to do to stay healthy just because people around me might be uncomfortable with it. There is a lot of misunderstanding around diabetes and I think being open about my diabetes might reduce some of this confusion.
Love this, let other people deal with it.
The same way a dog maintains eye contact when he is taking a shit
I like to maintain eye contact with people that watch me take my insulin. Particularly if they are a stranger.
You like that? Huh?
How to have a âpunch in the faceâ free day.
Step 1: Donât tell a T1D what to eat.
Step 2: remember step one.
Shower thought:Â âCompanies are not interested in a cureâ
If drug companies were to find a cure, large multi-billion dollar companies would go out of business. They would hate some Dr to find a cure for T1D.
Insulin companies need us to be chronically ill to make a profit.
I never knew what a carbohydrate was turns out itâs all the snacks I love.
-Macklemore (Letâs Eat) This sentence basically sums up my introduction into being a Type 1 Diabetic. (via dearlola)
What T1D has taught me this week
To be strong when I feel weak
A little bit of pain isn't a big deal, pain lets me know Iâm alive
Face the fear of death, we will all die and that isnât a bad thing. To die means you were a alive first.
To not feel judged when I shoot insulin in public, Iâm proud to take my medicine
When my T1D situation gets too much, take time and do nothing.Â
Thoughts like:
âAm I doing the right things with my diet?â
âWill I die young?â
âCan I go to sleep with sugars at these levels?â
Donât let your mind run away.
Leave it alone
Its just a little bit of diabetes, Iâll walk that shit off....â
Pre D day - When I was googling âwhy do I pee 12 times a dayâ, the search returned Type 1 Diabetes.
I was like cool âIâll probably just take a pill and then walk this shit off, no biggyâ. But no.
