Warriors of the Final Days

What's up my friends its me Closet Furry/Cacklespark welcome to my warriors blogthis'll mostly be used for my ~warriors au~ which i'm calling Warriors of the Final Days. Its post apocalyptic and follows 3 clans (TideClan, FlintClan & ShadeClan) unrelated to the canon clans from the books.

also been thinking about how different each clan's meeting structures are.

FlintClan holds theirs almost like court. You do not speak over the Flintstar or anybody whom the Flintstar has invited to speak. If you have something to say, you step forward and wait to be called on. Very structured.

TideClan is much less formal, and tends to go much longer cause the clan members generally get more of a say in Tide. For example, it'd be unthinkable to publically refute the Flintstar's choice in a deputy, but generally the Tidestar suggests one or two cats they believe would suit and then asks for the Clan to make their own suggestions or approve one of the cats they chose.

ShadeClan is the least formal. Elderbranch lowkey thinks it's carnage and hates it lol there's so much talking over and under other cats. The only Clan where meetings may have to be put on hold until everyone has settled the hell down.

Ok I think the timeline is. Kinda working out. Not even the story timeline the backstory timeline. Longstride has ended up younger than probably suits (bout 4 yrs old at the story's start) but she needs to live a long ass time through this narrative so I can't be making her the cranky old cow she deserves to be........ also Waspheart probably isn't starting as deputy I can't make it work. And I hate that prick.

Also Longstride has been full medcat for like... less than a year but she is freakishly good at it. Partially owed to her being 100% willing to ask and heed Honeytongue's advice. She kinda has that Cinderpelt type thing though- it wasn't strictly her destiny to be medcat, StarClan just knew she could- so she has a connection to StarClan but not that kinda innate sense for deciphering signs and prophecies? This is why she misinterpets when StarClan tells her to train Dustkit and decides they're telling her she's gonna die.

ShadeClan backstory doesn't hugely matter lol Shade's situation is chill as hell. She's just over 3 yrs old. Random stray shenanigans. Same for Snow (cept she's 2), and Prickle and Sting are only born a few months into the startup.

Heronheart and Honeytongue were complicated to figure out, everything was quite tight for timing but I think I've pulled it off plausibly. Ish. Heronheart is just a touch over 5 and Honeytongue and his sibs are a touch under 3.

Also; literally nothing happens in TideClan during the early months because TideClan cats stay in their own lanes and don't go out of their way to create drama with the neighbours

Shade reacts to most things with polite confusion; I think that's part of what makes her a good leader. The polite bit, not the confusion.

Hmmmm what if though.... whatever the illness is that causes the zombie effect actually somehow infects the soul. The first time the Clans successfully kill a zombified clanmate for the first time, and send their spirit to StarClan, it actually starts spreading through their ranks too. They have to cut off communication with the clans, for fear they might somehow infect leaders and med cats through dreams...

Or maybe even better, it starts somewhere in the Dark Forest and a visitor from StarClan gets infected. Maybe they infect the spirit of a recently passed cat- whose body actually claws its way out of the ground to attack the clans. Or the next half moon, the med cats come to visit StarClan only to be told to never go there again by whatever uninfected spirits are left. All new clanmates sent to StarClan now have to try and dodge this disease for all eternity... maybe the Clans get too desperate for guidance and get themselves infected anyway.

I don't know but I'm thinking a LOT abput inflicting a zombie apocalypse on the worried cats.

I know what the plot is, even if I haven't written it down, but anyway like uh. Temptation so strong to just rewrite everything to fully change what kind of apocalypse is happening lol. Zombie..... so fun...... I want zombies here. Is it worth it? Probably not. Do I just make an AU of my own AU for this lol

Mind you I suppose there's no reason I can't just have like. Radiation zombies??? Sequester those in somewhere. Can you have "too much" fun with a purely self indulgent project..... probably not

ok alright, I think I figured it out.

Firestar and Sandstorm are both ginger cats, right? Genetically, there's no way for them to produce a brown tabby like Leafpool, because brown is a black-based colour and neither of them have a black X chromosome to pass.

That said there's been rare cases of a gene that produces a visually cinnamon coloured pelt, but on a red-based cat. I'd argue Leafpool is a red-based pseudo cinnamon tabby, as opposed to a black-based brown tabby

This also makes sense genetically for the three, because if Leafpool's pelt was genetically black, there's nowhere for Lionblaze to get a ginger colour chromosome.

I've been thinking about this a lot lately and I'm writing it down so I can stop thinking about it
