Cullen called out after the inquisitor while smilinggently “Herald, a moment?” His colleagues gave Cullen a slightly amused lookbefore leaving the war room, their session there concluded.
“I… just wanted to ask how you are holding up?”This had sounded much better in his head Cullen immediately realized and hecleared his throat. “I mean, well, with your mark?”
Cullen listen and nodded in agreement. The last couple of days he had barely gotten any sleep and he had taken all of his meals at his desk. If it hadn’t been for Jim his study would had turned into a pigsty.
He slept, he thought, he breathed this campaign, he would keep doing it until they were all saved. Haven must never be repeated.
“You needn’t be concerned with me herald, I will do what is required of me.” Cullen replied a bit stiffly. His eyes darted over her features “Well… I guess.. I will see you?”
Cael furrowed her brows. “But I do worry about you, I worry about everyone.” She blurted out. She couldn’t help it. She had the need to protect them, even if she couldn’t protect them all. Keeping them all alive and safe.
“Y--Yes, I suppose you will,” Cael nodded. The Inquisitor agreed. Caeleste watched him carefully. He like Cassandra was purely dedicated to this cause. He had her respect for this. The reason the children survivors of the Annulment made it this far.
