You can read this if you want, but this is just going to be a pinned post so you can just ignore it.

Forcing myself to take a break from reading fics because it’s extremely possible that I’ve read over 4 million words of Jayvik fanfiction. It’s only April.
The duality of Jayvik is having one wip fic where Jayce absolutely worships Viktor (as he should), and another where they’re in post canon and kinda hate each other and Viktor just kinda stops putting up with Jayce’s shit.
Fuck it, I’m writing a fic inspired by Epic: The Musical where Jayce plays the role of Odysseus. The gods will be replaced by powerful arcane mages. I already know who Athena will be (Vi, duh), but if anyone has any other ideas for what character will play what god, I’m happy to hear them.
Ayo… I wrote something for the first time in months because Jayvik has me by the throat. I’m serious guys, I cannot do anything but think of these two gay scientists.
This takes place in an AU I’m writing where Hextech is used for the right things, and maybe the Arcane responds differently to that. I thought maybe I’d post it on here cause I don’t think it’s long enough for AO3.
It starts with a catalyst.
There’s an explosion somewhere in the Upper City, in an area far too rich for Viktor’s tastes. He supposes some first year student probably gone rouge, but he goes to check in out in Heimidinger’s place. It’s his job, after all, even though he knows that his time is better yet spent on his research than assisting in the arrest of some rich piltie with a knack for casual terrorism.
Upon his arrival, he doesn’t find such.
Jayce Talis sits on a piece of rubble, head in his hands. Viktor has never met him personally, but he does know of him. He knows his face, a face that right now seems battered, bruised, and defeated.
“Who authorized your research?” Viktor asks him. Jayce gives a half shrug.
“It was a… independent study.”
Independent study indeed. He recognizes the symbols written in confident strokes on the chalkboard, Viktor himself having dived into those very same equations. Nothing has ever seemed to come from it, but this…
“The Arcane is dangerous, Mr. Talis.” Viktor hums, raising his fingers to trace along a rune. “And not to mention, forbidden within the walls of Piltover.”
Jayce seems to wilt under his gaze, golden eyes cast down to his wringing hands. For such a large man, he looks small here. Defeated. Viktor cannot help but sympathize with his fellow scientist.
“Speaking of dangerous, and was given a list what had been deemed so. And it seems you are on such list.”
“What?!” Jayce stands now, and Viktor gets his first real look at him. He’s got nearly four or so inches on him, and is easily twice his size. His large hands curl into fists and Viktor cannot help but wonder if Jayce’s fingertips would touch if they were to reach out and grab him by the waist.
Viktor is but a man, and Jayce Talis is very handsome. Not to mention, incredibly smart. Both are equally as attractive.
Jayce has asked him a question, and Viktor gives him a non-committal shrug before sending him off in cuffs with a wave of his hand.
Once he’s alone, he takes another look around the ruined apartment, admiring the small pieces of machinery left behind. There’s no doubt that Jayce is brilliant, both in science and in the complexities of the Arcane- which was impressive in and of itself, seeing as finding anything of use is nearly impossible unless one found themselves in the deepest parts of Zaun.
Actually, he does recognize some parts from his home. Alloys only found in the depths of the mines, parts of scraps and metal that came of the bodies of broken down golems in the Fissures. It must’ve cost him a fortune.
There’s a notebook bearing the Talis house symbol on the front- red and gold and white, with a hammer stamped in the middle. Fitting, for a family of blacksmiths and masons.
The outside is not what Viktor is looking to admire, however. He opens the book, thumbing through the pages, eyebrows raising with every turn.
“Such brilliance.” Viktor mutters into the room, unable to help himself. He leans his cane against the desk and sits in the spot Jayce had once occupied.
Jayce Talis… Whatever he was doing at the academy now was such a waste. This research, it could help people- his people. And maybe…
Viktor never allowed himself to dream of such things. A waste of time that he doesn’t have much of.
It could help him. Maybe Viktor can live in a world where each breath would not hurt, each step would not remind him of his broken body. That maybe, just maybe, he could be whole.
Okay, Judgement is great so far! I love every character! Especially Paeon- they’re so silly.
Usually, I tend to have some issues here and there with Grizzly characters- don’t get me wrong, I enjoy them as much as everyone else’s- but I don’t have any complaints about his character in Judgement. Jaguar Joe is hilarious.
Finally started Judgement… As someone from the south whose accent gets thicker when I hear other people with thick accents speak, Bizly’s character is going to be a nightmare for me.
