When you're angry at the characters, the story is well-written. When you're angry at the writers, it is not.

the presumption here is that audiences can tell the difference.

presuming they’re not children, the audience can usually tell. ex: when a character does something you don’t like - but it feels like something the character would do - you get mad at the character. when a character does something you don’t like - and the history of that character makes it unbelievable that the character would do that thing - you get mad at the writers.

Furuba S3 - OP - Pleasure - A Deep Dive Into the Lyrics + Pics: SPOILERS!

Like with the ED, I’m going to be taking a closer look at the images and lyrics combination for the OP as well. I’ll be using my own translation of the OP lyrics. It should be noted, however, that the Japanese lyrics I did my translation off of were written out by listening alone, since the official release of the song and lyrics hasn’t happened yet, so there may be changes to this once the official lyrics come out.

We open up with a stormy, rainy day. This alludes to the climax of the series. That night.

Kyo and Tohru:

Wavering between who I want to be, 

And who others want me to be, yeah yeah yeah.

Here we have Kyo and Tohru. Technically, the lyrics that play over Tohru are just “yeah, yeah, yeah.” But I think this indicates that the lyrics that come before it are tied to Tohru, just like how her imagery is tied to Kyo’s. Tohru is a people pleaser and has a doing things that benefit herself over others. While Kyo has always had the stigma of being the Cat placed on him. Many of the other characters and a lot of them have this expectation for who Kyo is as a person already laid out before them. This conflicts with the kinder, gentler person Kyo really is and tries to be (more so since meeting Tohru).

Of course, we also have the locations of the characters. Kyo is up on the roof, where he usually goes to think. Tohru is walking along a rode (either on the way to or from school). This fits with her character being the central one tying all the other characters together and how this season we will really start to seeing Tohru taking her own path and traveling down it.

Momo is holding purple origami tulips. I got these often at the end of the school year / when I transferred schools. Here is an example of one that I found:

Momo's version is the simpler version that little kids learn how to make (my coworker was actually teaching this origami to the little kids I teach today). But hers also has stems and a little holder for the flowers.

Anyway, I looked up the symbolism for tulips and got this:

Perfect or deep love. The above image goes on to say that they are the perfect gift to give someone that you have a deep, unconditional love for (partner, parent, children, siblings, etc.).

Tulips can also mean:

Rebirth. This meaning is interesting, because in a way, in this above image we are seeing a 'rebirth' of Momo and Momiji's sibling relationship. The text image above also states: "have welcomed a new addition to the family." From Momo's POV that is kinda what's going on here with Momiji.

And then we have the color purple:

The text image notes that purple tulips are "perfect...to give someone who you think is totally fabulous and deserving of these beautiful blooms."

Hey yeah remember how Tohru needed to talk about what Kureno told her and she couldn't bring herself to bring it up with anyone except for Kyo? Remember how it's only with Kyo she manages to say anything? Cat boy's been putting in the hours trying to help Tohru know she can talk to him and it shows.

Which is also why Kyo panics when Tohru seems to take his response as a shutdown because no, I promise, you can talk to me, I'm not mad, that's not what I meant for you to think, I'm sorry, I'll say it better next time.

Kyo just wants to be there for her as much as he can in the time he has left, and Tohru is learning just how much losing his support, losing him, is going to hurt and I can't handle these two even a little bit they are so in love

That does NOT mean that it’s ONLY effective for six months, that does NOT mean that vaccination is futile because we’re going to need another totally new vaccine every six months forever.

The study shows that the vaccine is up to 91.3% effective against coronavirus at six months since vaccination.

FOR COMPARISON, the annual flu vaccine is anywhere from 40-70% effective against the influenza virus, and at six months it is no longer effective at all.

Over 90% effective at 6 months is extremely good, please tell the alarmist assholes in your life not to panic.
