Prince of Silvercity, but that isn't something that is known to others.

There are a lot of rumors about him. Some are good, and a lot of them are bad. Which ones are the correct ones?

Doesn't mind getting his hands dirty.

Speaking of father, he's learned some truth about what happened thanks to an event here in Aevum. He also learned so much and grew thanks to someone in particular, and is learning to break free from his father's clutches.

of course she was !! it just seemed weird . anna couldn't think of a single person that simply . . . wasn't a ' sweets person ' . granted , anna couldn't think of very many people she knew well enough to say one way or another , but of the people she knew : it seemed odd enough to her .

but even she could tell that her lie was anything but convincing , so as she deflated ( and defended herself ) , anna physically shrunk an inch .

" okay , fine . i am . a little . it just seems like . . . kind of a sad way to go about your meals . a little bit of sugar everyday keeps you going day-to-day . " she announced , scrunching her nose , " a little pick-me-up . "

"Just a little, huh?"

He seems to be thinking about her words, though. "There's one I like. But I don't know if I can consider it sweet." He shrugs and then adds, "Tell you what? You pick something. I'll try it."

He isn't sure what he's getting himself into, but if they were already at a sweets section, he might as well try something. Maybe he'll tell Lilith all about it.

⋆˙⟡ :- " I have noticed something about you, Uriah . . . " Lilith begins, the ocean breeze whipping her braid behind her and the skirts that she wore. It was a gorgeous summer day, with a bright and shining sun and the laughter of families playing along the shore.

The two of them were resting on a bench along the pier, under the shade, while observing the little figures of people playing in the water even after the festival had passed. In her hands was an ice cream, a rare treat that he had insisted he get for her. She had protested, but before she could do anything, it was in her hands.

" You are always looking towards the water whenever we are together . " She looked to him, her eyes searching his. " But you never go further than that . Why is that ? "

"Nothing bad, I hope," he says with a light, playful tone. He's only joshing, but even if she did notice something bad, it wouldn't hurt. It wouldn't be a lie, whatever she saw...

He's curious, though.

What has she noticed...

He doesn't have to wait long as they watch the people play around and have their fun in the summer. The ocean is beautiful. Always has been and always will be in his eyes. It's vast, free, and so, so...gorgeous. The way the sun's reflection dances on the water surface. What would it look like underwater? He had only a brief taste of it before Bluey came to his rescue that one time.

"You noticed that?" Because of course she did. She always seems to be watching people. He doesn't know how he feels about it. Still has to get used to it, he supposes.

"I really like the ocean," he admits. "I've always dreamt of getting a boat and sailing away with my mother. Get away from the Silver City as far as we could." He puffs out a huff and leans back,

"But it's dangerous for me. I can't get in. I'll stop....working. Sink. It sucks, honestly."

🍻-- So the kid had preternaturally good senses too... A small comfort of having someone who could at least understand that aspect.

As for worrying, Uriah didn't have to say anything. Logan could smell the worry on him. That was the thing about emotions. They all give off different scents and he'd learned them all well enough long ago. He wouldn't say anything about that though. No point to it.

And he grunted slightly. "Didn't have a whole lotta time for the note."

He could admit that he could've done better at it and tried to explain more. The itch had been too strong. ...But he supposed he had to remind himself that the people here didn't have the same experience with him that his teammates did. Not that even his teammates understood any of it much better than the people here would. They at least could pull him back and convince him not to go wandering off for too long at a time.

Logan followed along after Uriah, ears pricking at the sound of water and birds, and whatever other little things he could hear.

"I've lived in the forest a good bit. Helps when the city noise feels like it's too much. Never liked cities all that much."

"Well, if you're gone for a long time, I'll just assume you're somewhere here." Preferably, this place he's about to show so that way if Uriah ever needed him, it'd just be easier to track him.

He kneels by the river and dips his hands in. Water was dangerous for him when submerged fully, but this was safe enough.

"Must be nice," he whispers. If he could run away into the forest, he would have, too. The city was never really his thing. His mother always talked about the wide open greenery. She always had this look in her eyes that she'd rather be there than in Silvercity.

"Anyway, there isn't much here, but you can probably build whatever you want here. It's got a large space, water here, and it's far enough away."

" what do you mean ' i'm not much of a sweets person ' ?? " anna gawked , perhaps a bit stronger than the truth demanded . then again , strong reactions were demanded with blasphemy reared a head .

she'd heard about these weirdos ; the ones who claimed that there should be limits on how much sugar could constitute a meal . surely a sordid group of party-poopers who were more deniers than truthers . . . who didn't like chocolate ?? or cake ?? or custards ?? or --

" is it , like . . . an allergy ?? or are you just crazy ?? "

"An allergy? No. I don't think I have any of that. It's just..." he clicks his tongue in thought. "I just prefer savory stuff or sour treats. I'll eat a sweet if someone gives it to me, but it's not my go-to. Never was, even when I was a kid."

He pauses and gives her a side glance,

"You're not judging me, are you?" He is only jesting, but his tone says otherwise.

「𝔟𝔞𝔫𝔤 𝔟𝔞𝔫𝔤!」- Vash had been through plenty worse than that, but hitting nerve connectors still didn't feel great whether it was his own doing or someone else.

"Naw, it's fine," he said quickly to the apology. Then he moved his arm slightly. Flexed the hand. "It's fine."

Uriah leans back against his seat, reaches for a clean cloth to wipe his hands of oil and such.

"I did some small modifications on it to get you through the cold seasons. When that time comes, let me know how it feels."

His ears perk up, pleasantly suprised of this strange fellow's knowedge of sign language. Thank goodness, but he at least holds that journal incase of someone not knowing sign language. Now relieved, Dust signs again with more certainty. "Yes, I had suddenly appeared in front of this tower and handed items from a magical being. Do you know what this world is and how it has so much flora?"

He has so many questions. What are the tall bushes called because they're not bushes. What kind of phone is this, it looks nothing like the one back home. How are they surrounded by water? Do deities cause this water and flora? His heart raced a bit, hopes rising that maybe.. maybe, the Bringer of Life.. His friend, Ash is here.

So many things were catching his eye, like the gliding boards and moving vehicles. This island must be wealthy to hold so much transportation.

Sounds like this guy doesn't come from a world with a lot of plantlife. He can understand that. Silvercity didn't have any flora. It was all machines and such. If he wanted to see nature, he'd have to step outside his Kingdom.

This world is a whole separate kind of realm,

Uriah begins signing. He follows it with more explanation of this strange world. When he's done, he signs,

「𝔟𝔞𝔫𝔤 𝔟𝔞𝔫𝔤!」- Visits to Uriah’s workshop had become more frequent as Vash had his arm studied. It was fine to meet up there for the modifications. …It kept him away from his own place even though he knew that he should go back there more often thwt he had been recently.

In any case, he was humming softly a song he remembered from when he was young aa Uriah worked until — “Ow!”

The arm twitched as a nerve connector was hit.

"Sorry--my bad." Though the apology comes out a little too soft, Uriah is sorry. He had been too focused he hadn't realized what he was doing. "Should be good, now," he says once he's double checked everything.

"How does it feel? Stiff? Too loose?"

Walking through the busy streets of Clearview, Dust can't help but stare at everything with bewilderment. So many strange people here with no tails. There doesn't seem to be anyone like him.. The rumbling of the ground shakes his paws as he gingerly walks through the streets and sidewalks, taking in the unusual scent of water and salt. His ears pick up distant waves and clinks of drinks. Despite this being an island surrounded by nothing of water, it's surprisingly lively.

He noticed a pair of blue eyes staring at him.

Another person with features he's never seen before, but this individual seemed more shocked at the Rabbit than the other way around. His ear flicks, then his paws suddenly begin their trek to this unusual fellow. The man looked perplexed. But, maybe he's projecting... Because he probably looks the same as well.

The rabbit moves his hands, signing a "Hello."

Sticks out like a sore thumb, Uriah thinks to himself. Reminds him of one of those rabbit-like creatures back home. The ones that lived not too far from Silvercity. Though he supposed the difference between this one and them was that those rabbits had electricity coursing through their bodies.

Lilith would probably have loved them. She probably would find this guy pretty neat, too.

And the rabbit approaches then...then....it signs.

Uriah looks at him, confused. Only briefly, though, and then he's raising his own hand to sign back Hey.

He signs again:

🍻-- A short exhale through his nose was enough as he recognized the footsteps even before Uriah had come through the underbrush. Well, he supposed that it would only be a matter of time before someone came looking for him. Logan had been missing from the townhouse for a couple of days while he sorted himself out. Packed a rough bag and hiked out almost as soon as it all came flooding back.

Usually he did just fine enough at keeping a lid on it all, but having his senses come back like that had done a number for that caged animal feeling that cities could often give him. - Not that he didn't want to participate or do as man did, but...

Logan grumbled slightly as he looked up at the traitorous predator circling them. And he'd told her to keep it hush and that he would be back in a few days. No sense in worrying the kid. He'd even left a note though it didn't really explain anything.

"Ya don't have'ta do that. Pretty hard t' come by real quiet when you got senses like mine. Besides, I kind of got it outta my system now."

Even so he was picking up his sack of clothes and following behind.

"I know I don't. Your senses remind me of my own. I figured I could show you where it is if you ever wanted to disappear again with such a vague ass note." He doesn't want to say he was worried, but Uriah did find himself waiting for Logan's return as the days passed by.

He must have gotten used to being around people. Strange.

The trek to the place isn't too far. Once they get through the clearing of plants and bushes, Uriah stops by the riverbank. The sound of water gently running down the stream, the sounds of birds chirping in the distance, and the wind blowing against plant-life do enough to drown out some unwanted noises.

"I used to sneak into the forest back home, too. My hometown, The Silvercity's always loud. Tall buildings, machines, and anything else you can think of."

" this one is my favorite , " nose all but pressed to glass . utterly taken by the smells wafting from the confectionery , anna was as giddy as a girl during yule . the sugar sweetness acting as glue to keep her fixed on rainbow colored bonbons and truffles of all sorts .

" no , no . that one is . " anna changed her mind , lured by a hazelnut truffle with delicately laid gold foil , " that one is the best . if you're a chocolate sort of guy , if you know what i'm saying . "

"Nah, I'm not much of a sweets person, quite frankly." His mother had an IMMENSE sweet tooth, but it was never something he picked up from her. Shame, really.

Anyway...HOW did he even end up in this situation?

"If you're having a hard time picking one, pick whatever you want." It was as simple as that, wasn't it?

🍻-- While he hadn't exactly gotten used to walking around with his senses dulled, it was a hell of a transition back to normal. He was used to everything seeming like too much, but "adjusting" and then returning to that world of "too much" was something all its own beast.

At the moment he was sat in lotus position out in the woods, surrounded by trees and rocks and wildlife. He'd needed to get away from all of the relative insanity that came by way of metropolitan spaces. He needed to be in nature. He needed to be around the animals. The hike to the wilds had been a bit of a journey, but it was nice to be in a decently secluded place - or at least it was more so than any park, regular forest, or the Ather Reserve would allow.

Feeling something comforting around him was what he needed. Not hundreds of people and scents that he didn't recognize. Thankfully, no matter where one went, forests and the wilds were mostly the same.

Breathing deep, his nose filled with the smells of animals and the woods around him. Earthy, low smells. The scent of petrichor still lingering from days ago, the tracks of animals that had been in the area several weeks prior. There were plenty of other animals too who were slowly coming around curiously or minding their own business.

He could still hear faint sounds from all the way off in the fields, but they weren't intrusive. There was a deer a ways off. Birds in the trees. A whole bunch of little critters rustling the grass. He could also --

Logan opened his eyes then, turning his head towards the new scent and sound of someone approaching the little area he'd laid claim to for the moment. Well, it had been nice to orient himself for a little while. He stood up, brushing dirt and grass from his person as he pulled on his shirt again.

"Looks like we both had the same idea. Breeze said I'd find you here." Not so much as speak, but the falcon above circled around the two. Surely, Logan sensed her. Uriah wasn't typically one who conversed with people. Being so used to keeping others at arm's length did that to a person. He was learning, and he had a lot of learning to do!

At least he wasn't doing it all alone. Being here has taught him more than anything else.

"C'mon, I'll show you a place that's a little quieter than here."
