springtails are a sort of consolation prize when flipping rocks that have nothing else hiding underneath, not because they're any less interesting but because getting decent photos of them without fancy gear is a pain in the ass. with that said, i appreciate Dicyrtomina tuberculata a lot for keeping me company throughout the cold months and it'd be unfair to omit them. here's one pondering moss
