Epidemic Warning!

It’s that time of year again!  The flu has been making an appearance on campus, which means it is time for everyone to get their flu shots!

Come to Student Health between the hours of 9 and 5 to get a free vaccination.

There will also be a mobile clinic at the student union from 9 AM to 10 PM on Friday, 9/14.

As a final warning, if you have not gotten vaccinated for meningitis, let the nurses know and that can be addressed as well.

Main Pool Reopened

The Main Pool is open again for normal hours.

A suggestion has been put before the University to move one of the campus pools from traditional chlorine to salt water.  Facilities will open a comment period from 9/1 to 9/30 to address this suggestion.

A New Tradition

Nixie Becker, senior psychology, was the winner of the first annual Calder Chili Cook-off! 

Please join the administration on congratulating her!

We look forward to seeing the other competitors in future years and are pleased with the beginning of this new tradition!

The Pool is Closed

The Main Pool is closed until further notice.

Midnight moonlight swim is cancelled.

Officials will be performing sanctioned maneuvers in the Forest after sunset on Thursday evening.

Students are advised to avoid the Forest until sunrise, Friday morning.

There is an Emergency at the Old Theater. 

Do not approach the Old Theater.

Do not enter the Old Theater.

The Appropriate Authorities are involved.

Permission Required Classes

The student body is reminded that some classes require professor permission for registration.

Do not delay in obtaining this registration.

Occasionally, a class requires an invitation.  Those classes are marked INV in the course guide.  If you are intended to be in one of these classes, they will be marked on your schedule or you will receive an invitation.

Do not ignore the invitation.

Do names have to be titles like Gandalf's sword Glamdring the Foe Hammer, or can one call a cloak dry or soup hot?

A name is a reflection of what a thing is in truth.  If all the cloak ever does is be dry, than that would be sufficient.  (Though then it should be Dry.)  And soup is often more than hot.
