Mrs. Jean Allyka S. Nicdao Showcases Innovative Teaching at TEMTAM Professional Meeting
Manila — Mrs. Jean Allyka S. Nicdao successfully conducted a Division Demonstration Presentation during the Second Professional Meeting of the Technology Education Master Teacher Association of Manila (TEMTAM), held on November 11, 2025, at Cayetano Arellano High School.
Her presentation highlighted the integration of the Higher Order Thinking (HOT) – SOLO Framework Model into the teaching and learning process, specifically in the area of Electronic Product Servicing. Through this approach, Mrs. Nicdao demonstrated how technical-vocational education can foster critical thinking, problem-solving, and deeper conceptual understanding among students.
“The HOT–SOLO framework empowers learners to move beyond surface-level knowledge and engage in meaningful, real-world applications,” Mrs. Nicdao shared during the session.
Selected students actively participated in hands-on activities, showcasing how the framework enhances both technical skills and cognitive development. The event served as a platform for sharing best practices among technology educators, reinforcing TEMTAM’s commitment to professional growth and instructional excellence.
TEMTAM officials praised the demonstration as a benchmark for quality teaching in technical-vocational education. The association encourages educators to adopt similar strategies to elevate learning outcomes across Manila schools.
English Culminating Activity 2025
November 30, 2025 — Felipe G. Calderon Integrated High School proudly marked the successful conclusion of its English Month Celebration with a culminating activity that brought literature to life: the Character Book Parade.
The event gathered students, teachers, and parents in a festive showcase of creativity and learning. Learners from different grade levels donned costumes inspired by beloved literary figures, ranging from timeless fairy tale characters to modern protagonists. Each participant carried the title of the book they represented, transforming the school grounds into a vibrant stage of storytelling and imagination.
School administrators emphasized that the parade was not only a celebration of artistry but also a reinforcement of the school’s mission to cultivate a love for reading and communication. “The Character Book Parade highlights how literature continues to inspire our students to dream, express themselves, and connect with the world,” said one faculty member during the program.
The culminating activity capped off a month-long series of contests, performances, and classroom initiatives designed to strengthen students’ proficiency in English while encouraging creativity and collaboration. Parents and guests applauded the parade, noting its impact on building confidence and appreciation for literature among the youth.
As the curtains closed on English Month 2025, Felipe G. Calderon Integrated High School reaffirmed its commitment to holistic education — blending academic excellence with cultural enrichment. The Character Book Parade stood as a testament to the school’s vision of making learning both meaningful and memorable.
