Alexis talked to Vienna for a moment, then moved to talk to Larkin, laughing and joking with her friend. Every few moments, her eyes would flutter back to Caleb, keeping him in her sight. She didnt want him to be uncomfortable or upset. That would totally defeat the whole purpose of the game anyways. 

Caleb kept his eyes on Alexis, he was waiting for her focus to be somewhere else so he could slip out. He bit his bottom lip waiting, making sure to continue talking to the girl he was talking to so it looked like he was trying to play the game.

“I love you” She said, dropping her hand and stepping back, turning and walking away from him, unsure. She hated that Caleb seemed uncomfortable, but wasnt really sure how to handle it, especially with him saying they should keep going. She walked back towards the bar, replenshing her drink but avoiding the man shed been flirting with, finding Vienna instead. 

“I love you to Lex.” He watched her walk away before moving to talk to someone close to an exit. He knew he had to do it strategically if he was going to leave. He didn’t want to ruin the night for Alexis and Link but he knew if he stayed it wasn’t going to end well. His eyes were on Alexis.

Alexis put her hand on the side of his face frowning. “You dont look sure. But I’m not going to push. Please come get me if you feel uncomfortable okay? This isnt about me and Link, its about the three of us and ending the night together. in the end, I want to leave this party with you and Link. Dont forget that.”

Caleb had always been someone who was easy to read and he knew that hadn’t changed. “I’ll remember that,” he nodded his head. He didn’t know why he couldn’t just be okay with it like they were. Couldn’t just get into the game and gone from there.

Alexis shuffled on her feet, unsure. “Caleb baby, are you sure?” She pressed her lips together and watched him carefully, sipping lightly on her champagne. “I mean we really want you to have fun tonight babe. Hot sex totally aside, we want you to enjoy your evening.” She leaned in and kissed him lightly. “We can end this whenever you want, just…Come get us or flag us down.”

Caleb nodded his head, he wasn’t sure, he wanted to stop, but he didn’t want to mess it up for them. He kissed her back with a small smile, “just go have fun.” He knew he wouldn’t last much longer but he wouldn’t end it for them. If anything he was planning on slipping out without being seen.

Fancy Night In || Caleb/Link/Alexis

Caleb was excited, he had planned a nice dinner at home and had kicked Link out telling him and Alexis to come over at six both dressed fancy. He had cooked steak, potatoes and vegetables, it was finishing while he moved to do everything else. He had set the table and lit candles making sure it was all fancy. He had even rented seat covers and place settings to make sure that it was perfect for them all.

He had made up name tags and put them in spots on the table before going to change into his fancy outfit. After making sure he looked perfect he checked on the food, it was coming along perfect. Finding some of his classical music he put it on but kept it low giving the feeling of being in a fancy restaurant. He also dimmed the lights. He had even made fake menus so it would be like they were going to order their meal. He then sat back and waited for them to arrive.

Cate finished up her bags and turned on the coffee machine. She wasn’t sure if Caleb drunk wine but living with Link meant that he must have liked Coffee. “Oh Alexis is the same. She can’t even be in the same room with Belladonna. Even if she’s in her tank. That’s why her tank’s in my room.” Cate told him. 

“Link on the other hand only hangs out up here when I’m around so he can see the spider. It’s been like that since well they’ve probably told you the story of how I fucked up their relationship right?” Cate arched a brow putting a little bit of cold tap water in to the mugs so the coffee wasn’t to hot. “Anyway he used to tolerate me and now he can’t stand me.” She laughed just a little bit.

Caleb chuckled softly, “I guess her and I are alike in that way.” He knew he was a lot different than both Link and Alexis. Sometimes he wondered how the three of them were they way they were with how different they all were but he was thankful that they were, he wouldn’t change it for a thing. “In a tank or not I don’t think I’m going anywhere near it.”

Caleb shook his head, there was a lot about the past that he hadn’t been told by Link and Alexis. “No they haven’t told me the story yet. I think I want to hear it though.” He shrugged his shoulders, “I don’t think you’re that bad yet. I mean you’re nice to me. I like you so far.” He smiled.

A Ring With My Love | Caleb&Reese

After her last conversation with Caleb, Reese had done a lot of thinking. Her best friend had been torn to pieces by the realization that Link had gotten an engagement ring for Alexis in the past, while he had nothing of the sort in return. With how protective of the boy’s emotions Reese was, she obviously found this unsuitable, deciding only hours after his confession what she was going to do about it. 

She’d taken a bit of her paycheck, not much being as she was in the process of taking over the shop, but enough to be able to afford decent ring. Though Caleb didn’t need to know that she’d managed to haggle for it at a pawn shop, getting a decent price on something that was worth much more. It was a simple ring, white gold and a thin band, just wide enough to have it engraved.

Ring in her pocket, laced through a matching silver chain, Reese let herself into the apartment she had once called home, without a knock. It was habit, after all. “Caleb!” She called, before making her way into the kitchen, where the boy was prepping breakfast. “Good morning!” She beamed, antsy to give him his gift. “You’re not busy, are you?”

Caleb had been awake for awhile and had just began making breakfast when he heard Reese’s voice. He was excited that his best friend was there and he was happy for the surprise. He turned his head to see her and gave her a smile, “hey beautiful. This is a really pleasant surprise.” He heard her question and shook his head, “naw I’m just making breakfast. You want something to eat?”

Cate gave Caleb a nod when he offered to put things away for her. “You probably know where everything should go seeing as you’ve probably been here.” She began to pack a few thing away in to the fridge. She listened as Caleb told her about what he did for a living. She might as well do the same for him. 

“Well Currently I’m working as a fashion consultant, but I really want to get in to designing but baby steps you know?” Cate told him. “I was in Paris recently for a few weeks doing work things, and I studied Fashion in England.” That was really the most interesting things about her. “Oh and I have a tarantula called Belladonna.”

Caleb laughed and nodded his head, “yeah I know pretty much where everything goes. Or at least I think that I do.” He had been there enough that he was sure he would be able to figure it all out if there was something he wasn’t sure about.

“That’s actually really cool. I don’t know much about fashion but I think a lot of it looks really neat. Spiders though I’m not a fan of so the whole tarantula thing is all you,” he offered her a smile, he liked that he was getting the chance to get to know her.
