Striker, gloating as he is about to deal the killing blow to a cornered Stolas : "So, what are you going to do now, your highness ? Did you really think you could escape me without your little magic tricks ?"
Stolas, pulling a revolver out of nowhere : "No. But I'm really good with guns now. Dance, b*tch !"
[Sometime after the trial.] Stolas : "Oh Blitz, I lost everything : Via, my plants, my books, my house, the royal stables, my powers, my…" Blitz : "Wow, wow, wow, wait a second there. The royal stables ? You had horses the whole time and you never told me about them ? You know we'd probably be married already if you had, right ?" Stolas : "Yes, but that would have made things so easy, it almost felt like cheating…"
Okay, I have two things to say about the new short.
First, missed opportunity to have Blitz' role be listed as "the Helluva Boss" in the video's mock credits. 0/10. Unwatchable.
Secondly, am I the only one feeling like the Succubus intern looks a little like the one who appeared in that infamous picture ? I mean, who could blame her for needing a nice, relaxing nap on a floatie after a day like this...
I know it was stated that God would not appear in the show, but I was toying with a little idea that I wanted to share with you. You know about the Trinity doctrine, right ? How one God exists in three coeternal, consubstantial persons and all that. Well, I wanted to explore this concept of God not being one singular entity, but three distinct yet ontologically connected beings. Furthermore, the idea would be that, instead of the three of them being divine in the exact same way, each of them would only possess one attribute of the supreme essence, of the Godhead.
- The Father, domineering and (metaphorically) old, would be omnipotent. He can alter the very fabric of reality, but his power is limited to what he can see and touch. Like a lot of older people, he also tend to assume that his way is the best was, a mindset that isolates and restricts him even more…
- The Son, free and (metaphorically) young, ever so curious, would be omnipresent. He can manifest wherever he wants (even in a wafer), but this can also make it difficult for him to really get attached. In short, a carefree - and at times rebellious - hippie.
- The Spirit, agent of wisdom, would be omniscient. He knows all causes and effects but cannot truly do anything on his own. His only option is to guide the other two the best he can and plan around their whims, trusting them with his holy designs…
Together, they are God. That is to say, God only exists when they work together, when they act as one. Of course, their contrasting temperaments makes it easier said than done, often causing them to butt heads over what needs to and should be done.
It also leaves us with one unaddressed attribute of God : his supposedly all-loving nature. I like to think it'd be the one trait they all have in common, albeit expressed through the prism of their different personalities, making it all the more difficult for this divine love to reach their creations. For example, the Father's love would be genuine but harsh. He wants what's best for his creations, or more accurately, what he thinks is the best, and will not hesitate to punish and discipline. The Son's love, meanwhile, would be more sensualist. He loves and enjoys his creations, and wants his creations to love and enjoy themselves, but it can make his love come off as lax and superficial. Not sure about the direction I'd want to take with the Spirit, though. Theoretically speaking, he is the one who should know how to convey his love in a warm and insightful way, so I'm not sure what kind of flaw would impede that. His own helplessness could have led him to become a rather timid person, with a hesitancy to speak his mind not helped by his perpetual concern for the bigger picture. He could also be a bit of a smart*ss, whose love often comes off as patronizing in spite of his good intentions… Really, I'm not sure what direction I'd take.
Finally, I like to think that if they were to have individual names, the first letters of said names would spell out "God". To add a bit of a theme, I was thinking about "Genesis", "Origin" and "Dawn". But there is obviously nothing final about any of the things I'm discussing here… XD
Anyway, I just wanted to get this idea out of my system. To those who took the time to read this post, thank you very much. Feel free to chime in if there is something you'd like to say about its content. With that being said, see ya ! ^_^
With the last batch of Pride Month merch, a sudden vision arose in my head : Sera with a huge and not-so-secret crush on the Speaker of God. I mean, the show makes it quite clear that the two of them are rather close. The first thing the Speaker did when she showed up was to reassure Sera, and it's abundantly obvious that the Head Seraph has nothing but the upmost respect for her superior, seeking her guidance in times of doubt. But what if that respect had turned into romantic adoration somewhere along the way. Realistically, Sera knows the Speaker is too ethereal a being to reciprocate that kind of desire, but her radiant and nurturing warmth feels like Cupid's arrows. So the Seraph is kind of stuck : she isn't necessarily oblivious to the feelings that fluster her heart, but at the same time, she sort of refuses to acknowledge them, not wanting to bother the Speaker with her fruitless infatuation...
Berto got lost again! It's ironic that he's a hammerhead shark with all his sensory prowess, but he can't find his way around his own apartment. 🦈💫

I had a dream about the most unexpected Tears of the Kingdom sequel : you played as Teba, as he escorted Zelda on a diplomatic mission to the "Great Rito Kingdom of the South", a tropical archipelago serving as a shelter for those fleeing the cold. I don't remember much, but the islands' king was a fabulous peacock Rito who was quite smitten over Teba… much to the displeasure of his captain of the royal guard, a bearded vulture who had a crush on his king. You can always count on my subconscious to make it gay…

Like a lot of people, I love to gush over the "background" characters who inhabit the Hellaverse. And the last short certainly had its fair share of handsome fellows. So I wanted to bring up the one I'm currently smitten over :
This DJ guy. Not only does he look deviously sexy, but he also seems like a pretty chill and agreeable dude. Also, since he is presumably the one providing the music for Chaz' video, I like to think that he is one of the shark's few (very, very few) genuine friends. Probably because he is constantly too high to really register how grating Chaz can be, but still. Also, there is no way this guy isn't a freak in the sheets...
Now, this short king would be a really close second :
Look at this confident little charmer ! He is hot, and he knows it. Also, I'd be curious to know what's the story behind his tail...
And of course, I couldn't write about those two without starting to picture them as boyfriends. Naturally, they would be in an open relationship, with the Imp loving to cruise at the club when his man is DJ'ing ; he is the best when it comes to setting a sensual and flirtatious mood. :3

With that we can deduce that Chaz' bigger dick is on his left while the smaller one is on his right, and that the former is roughly twice the length of the latter. Fanfics writers better take notes.

After a little hiccup with Reddit's filters, I finally completed my series dedicated to the demons of the Ars Goetia. It was certainly a fun experience. I don't know which demons will ultimately get to appear in the show (although we can speculate about all the Goetic demons we got to see during Blitz' trial), but going through the list really gives a ton of material for headcanons.
Now, I hope those who embarked with me on this infernal journey had a good time. And if you haven't already, feel free to check the series. I'm not the foremost authority on the matter, it goes without saying, but I tried to be as exhaustive as possible, so it should make for a pretty solid base. And if you'd like to add something regarding one demon or another, don't hesitate to chime in ; it's always a pleasure to learn more about those guys. ;)

As much as I love the idea of the Sins being a bit more evil, there's something poetic about how some Sins hate how destructive their Core Aspect can be. There's a theme in there, but it's not a theme I think can apply to all Sins, at least not how currently written (ex: Mammon). It sounds cool to explore, tho. Maybe they're all at different stages of falling into the worst level of their sin.
Well, the thing with the Sins is that, they are embodiments of vices, but they are also people. Which means that they are bound to have standards and opinions about the sin they embody. And that those standards and opinions are themselves bound to evolve over the course of their long, long existences. So it's interesting to see their different perspectives and what kinds of conclusions their lives led them to. Lucifer's Pride is counterweighted by his depression and constant failures. Asmodeus came to see Lust as an art he doesn't want to be tainted. Beelzebub wants Gluttony to be enjoyed, and takes offence when people use it to hide how miserable they truly are. Mammon let himself be consumed by his own Greed without any shame, regrets or remorses. Satan has nasty anger issues, but doesn't want his Wrath to dominate him… It's also this plurality of mindsets that makes them come off as such a fascinating and colorful group. Now if only we could get more of Belphegor and Leviathan…

(The following post contains spoilers for the Super Mario Galaxy Movie. You have been warned, so proceed at your own risk.)
After much anticipation, I finally got to see the new Mario movie. Twice. And I must say, I don't see what's everyone's problem with this movie, because I found it just as delightful as the first one. Sure, it may not be a perfect adaptation of the Galaxy games - not that I expected it to be in the first place -, but for what it's worth, I think they did a good job capturing the sense of cosmic wonder that carried those titles.
Now, I've had my own share of grievances over the years regarding the malleability of the Mario canon (such as the Koopalings retcon), so I completely understand why some of the liberties they took could rub some the wrong way. But for the most part, I think they made it work. I mean, people have always been theorizing about a possible connection between Peach and Rosalina, long before we even knew that it was indeed intended for the two of them to be related in the earlier drafts of the first game (to tell you the truth, the first time I saw a picture of Rosalina in a magazine, I thought she was just Peach in a new dress). So really, I'm not surprised they decided to integrate the idea in the movies' continuity. Besides, I love when they explore Rosalina's more vulnerable side. I know people like to perceive her as this immaculate goddess, but as far as I'm concerned, I think they managed to strike a pretty lovely balance. I mean, in the same vein as Sparks of Hope, it's made pretty clear that Junior only managed to best her because he got the chance to exploit her motherly side. And even then, she still played an instrumental role in her own rescue…
But enough about her. There are other aspects I wanted to talk about. First, I'd like to highlight once again what a visual marvel the film is. It's always a delight to see this universe come alive on the big screen, and I love all the funny and clever ways they found to reinterpret the Mario world, like turning the Gateway Galaxy into a bustling spaceport, the underground casino, or Bowser Jr. using Super Mario Maker as a security system. The film is once again a love letter to the franchise, and all those little Easter eggs make for a delicious experience. Also, I really, really liked the accent on arts and crafts in some sequences, such as Bowser's bedtime story and the credits. As the film that introduced Yoshi, it was such a charming nod to Crafted World. Speaking of that bedtime story though, it goes without saying but Bowser and his son really stole the show. Once again, as a Bowser fan, I couldn't be happier. They were so adorably evil together. And the magic brush made for really fun battle choreographies(1). Also, Bowser dual-wielding axes made for a very sexy spectacle…
All in all, I had a pretty great times. Was it perfect ? Not by any means. The pacing, for one, could have used a little polish. Especially since I don't think anybody would have a problem had the movie be ten or twenty minutes longer. But I still think that its positive aspects far outweigh the negative ones : a simple yet heartfelt story, stellar visuals, delightful characters (Yoshi was as adorable as ever, and Luigi getting more screen time was much appreciated), an exquisite score, plenty of action, a lot of amusing moments and cameos (I don't care what the detractors say, Fox' inclusion was one of the most exciting parts of the movie in my eyes)… The only thing I'll never forgive them for is the decision to cut Bowser's new song. Not only because it's a really fun song, but also because it would have been a hilarious tradition to have the Koopa King sing in each movie. But apart from that, all the ingredients for an amazing time were gathered.
Now the question is, what do they have in store for the next installment (because it's pretty obvious that we are getting another movie after this one) ? With Daisy appearing in the post-credits scene, I've seen many people theorize that the next film will involve Tatanga as a new villain and that he'll be recontextualized as the evil force that was after Peach and Rosalina's cosmic power. And honestly, that seems to fit pretty well. If I allowed myself to be a little bolder, I'd add that it would be awesome if he were to show up with an army of Shroobs, but I'd rather temper my expectations. XD Still, here is a half-serious theory if Tatanga is indeed the big bad of the next movie : halfway through the film, he will use his alien technology to make evil clones of the brothers, and that's how we'll get Wario and Waluigi…
(1) Speaking of, here is a little theory I was thinking about. You know how the pigments used for paints can be made from grinded plants ? Well, I was wondering, considering that - in the movie - Junior can use the brush to transform into his Wonder form, what if the paintbrush was powered by Wonder Flowers ? It would certainly explain all its incredible abilities (obviously, the Wonder Flowers weren't a thing back when the magic brush first appeared, but even in the games, so little was established about it that one could easily add a connection)…
