He can’t beat Tianlang-jun and will therefore lose his home if the man escapes and decides to vent.
Ming Fan concludes he has to remove both the arrays and anything in it, preferably without being noticed too much or incurring anybody’s wrath. And thus begins the arduous process of freeing a depressed and heartbroken - frankly - loser who can’t get over one crush.

We also know MF was charismatic enough or at least had SJ's approval enough for other disciples to follow his lead bullying LBH. As far as i can remember, my memory is fallable but for the sake of my rambling lets go with that.
So either a) MF was manipulated to have his jealousy towards LBH be encouraged or b) mf had enough potential that SJ decided he was worth investing.
Im not quite sure if i see an angle where Ming Fan somehow didnt trigger SJ's dislike of men, but maybe SJ felt enough power in the dynamic to not mind too much having MF around.
That being said, i think we start at a base where Shen Jiu believes Ming Fan to he somewhat of a reliable figure, he tells him what to do and Ming Fan does it. So in his return (maybe SQQ split into SY and SJ) i think it would be fun for Ming Fan to just be...kinda like a kicked puppy.

And that knowledge is put to the test all of a sudden with people breathing down his neck trying to get more out of QJP than what agreement they alr had. Promises of entry for discipleship for their second and third children, more priority in requests, etc etc. MF has to figure out how to play the game or else his Peak will be up shit creek with no paddle.
So he's tired and jaded- and Shizun is back! His shizun! The one who picked him!
And...Shizun wants him to do something for him.
It triggers his alarms, senses that have been poked and prodded till they became sensitive because he needed them to. He feels like he's getting manipulated, and he is. SJ doesn't really know how to not manipulate, because for him talking straight has never gotten him anywhere. He's tried that so many times only to not get him anywhere- so he doesnt.

it all comes to ahead when either a) mf gets kidnapped by a disgruntled noble b) ming fan comes back from a nighthunt with LQG/YYX hurt bad OR the spicy option c) MF gets kidnapped into a human trafficking ring selling highly durable slaves

And that hurts far far more than if Ming Fan had been stolen from him.

the funniest progression is that the frequent tug and pull actually drives MF back to Shen Yuan as the "Very nice and simple Shifu once I figure out how you operate" lol. Maybe SY is used to people making decisions around him (growing up in a rich family with older siblings who inherited the business) so I think MF would just be like "Shifu, the papers here are for- [blah blah blah]" and SY is like "Sounds reasonable, good job MF, where do I press my seal?" and MF is like "Yunno this feels nice"
SJ and TLJ are one hundred percent trying to outdo each other. Like a father vs. boyfriend levels of petty which leads to techniques and lessons getting chucked at Ming Fan left and right (because SJ REFUSES to copy YQY and shower Ming Fan with useless gifts) until Ming Fan has to put his foot down because "Shizun- Tianlang-jun, I have had it up to HERE with both of you, either play nice or stay out of my sight until dawn tomorrow so I can actually get WORK done."
SJ looks like the most betrayed cat- like "JAIL FOR A THOUSAND YEARS-" level of betrayed while TLJ just pouts (he's way to used to getting on Ming Fan's nerves)
it all comes to ahead when either a) mf gets kidnapped by a disgruntled noble b) ming fan comes back from a nighthunt with LQG/YYX hurt bad OR the spicy option c) MF gets kidnapped into a human trafficking ring selling highly durable slaves
c would absolutely end in blood. Which is why its the most fun option.
I want to see option c so bad I already wrote a whole thing where mf gets sold into a slave ring (on purpose but still). And father vs boyfriend debate I feel like more than just jealousy at having HIS disiciple stolen away (my own private hc is that SJ who really hates the majority of the children on his peak really only consider mf and nyy to be his disciples while the rest tend to be seen as more or less, children of nobles I have to babysit occasionally, because I like the thought of mf being special like that).
SJ would hate tlj also because he does Not Approve. Simply put. Handsome? Playboy personality? Demon? No good, if this man we're a human he would be a HOOLIGAN. and his preciously raised, well bred son does not deserve being tied down to something like that (think the feeling you get when your extremely expensive purebred cat mates with an ugly ass stray and has ugly ass babies).
And the worst part isn’t even that Ming Fan is dating, not even that he’s dating some unworthy swine called man, it’s that the guy he’s dating is taking up a more important role in Ming Fan’s life than Shen Jiu
Through shenanigans having Shen Jiu around during Tianming would be either funny or sad.
I think its debatable if Shen Jiu had some sort of disciple-relation with Ming Fan in canon- we know he was made Head Disciple, we can kinda theorize that maybe part of that was Ming Fan wanting to have SJ's approval bad enough that SJ tolerated him and even started teaching him some stuff to make it apropriate for MF to be a head disciple. We also know MF was charismatic enough or at least had SJ's approval enough for other disciples to follow his lead bullying LBH. As far as i can remember, my memory is fallable but for the sake of my rambling lets go with that.
So either a) MF was manipulated to have his jealousy towards LBH be encouraged or b) mf had enough potential that SJ decided he was worth investing.
Im not quite sure if i see an angle where Ming Fan somehow didnt trigger SJ's dislike of men, but maybe SJ felt enough power in the dynamic to not mind too much having MF around.
That being said, i think we start at a base where Shen Jiu believes Ming Fan to he somewhat of a reliable figure, he tells him what to do and Ming Fan does it. So in his return (maybe SQQ split into SY and SJ) i think it would be fun for Ming Fan to just be...kinda like a kicked puppy.

He does the work, he does the face of showing up and trying to maintain the relationships inherently tied to Qing Jing Peak. He knows how to play the face, he's been taught how. And that knowledge is put to the test all of a sudden with people breathing down his neck trying to get more out of QJP than what agreement they alr had. Promises of entry for discipleship for their second and third children, more priority in requests, etc etc. MF has to figure out how to play the game or else his Peak will be up shit creek with no paddle.
So he's tired and jaded- and Shizun is back! His shizun! The one who picked him!
And...Shizun wants him to do something for him.
It triggers his alarms, senses that have been poked and prodded till they became sensitive because he needed them to. He feels like he's getting manipulated, and he is. SJ doesn't really know how to not manipulate, because for him talking straight has never gotten him anywhere. He's tried that so many times only to not get him anywhere- so he doesnt.
