“…Then everything that happens in between can be dealt with”
You are placed on a pedestal, this never ending stage
To be worshipped and fed on like we do our heavenly father with incense and sage
But if I loved you like God, I would never know you at all
Yes, if I loved you like God I would never bother to respect the blood that ran through your veins
that you shed so easily for whoever ask of you
and your warm embrace
with your gentle song
and your smile of a thousand suns
As frightening as it is revealing yourself to a doctor for the very first time, I still ask you of you to ease into my eyesight
Let me view you whole so I can love you in holiness
As devoted as religion, as honest as research
Tell me how your mind shifts and changes, taking shape around your new identities
Tell me how the stars that compete with your eyes move you to spin until they double in quantity
Whispering to you secrets of our universe, insanities
And how the mere sight of pain from the innocent summons puddles beneath your lids
And then tell me how you move when the door closes behind you
Tell me how you suffocate with the strength of Muscles all those who dared you
Tell me how you prowled and howled with hunger and yearning at the corners of her home until she eventually ran out the door and into your arms
Leaving his nest, resting in yours
Show me that you are man, so I can understand
like the woman I was created to be
Show me your sins and let me love you wholeheartedly
Allow me to reveal to you what it truly means to be sacred regardless
With true devotion in each comprehensive nod I gift to you
I may carry judgment but it is not divine
As I am no saint, and to judge would make you mine
In the way of our God
I’d like to believe im as human as you are
I’d like to believe we could be human together
In doing so i’d become the performer, and you the audience
As I reveal to you what it means to dance to my own song of devotion indefinitely
My body and mind twists and bend
to the best of its heartfelt and naive ability
and you rest your exhausted, aching limbs
to watch me until the curtains draw in,
all the way to our very end
No encore, no prayers, just united
“Amen”
