i have this idea for a bagginshield fic that im so into i might write it myself, but anyone feel free to

on the slim chance anyone in this fandom has watched love game in eastern fantasy (chinese drama), that's where it's from:

essentially, bilbo (or thorin, but probably bilbo) gets gifted/made to wear some kind of enchanted jewelry that makes him instantly fall in love with someone else. bonus points if the jewelry was originally a gift from thorin

cue mega angst (with an eventual happy ending) where thorin thinks that his love is unrequited (!) and bilbo is warring with his feelings.

in my head this is post BOTFA so let's just say bilbo and thorin have some unresolved issues...

so when bilbo 'falls in love' with someone else (maybe an elf) thorin reacts in a way that bilbo flinches at, and then we can rehash all of that delicious gold sickness angst (perhaps a "you're scared of me?" on thorin's part)

Idk there's something really sweet to me about fix-it writers. Like, me and you- maybe we couldnt make it this time, but in another universe, a million people saw the pain of our story and are writing us a happy ending, giving us the chance we never had
