Hey there- so I think it's a good idea to get a proper post up.
My name is Samuel ( @jojotier ) and I am the person who ran this entire shindig. I was the sole writer and voice actor for the project (excepting the Calliemortix blog, which was written by a dear friend). Over the last 3 years, I've been biding my time, trying to figure out how best to revive this ARG, and over the past few months I've come to the conclusion that I won't be able to.
There's a few main reasons for this:
The rise of actual, literal AI, and AI psychosis in particular, in practically every facet of our lives.
I don't have as much time as I once had to keep up with this.
Callie's voice no longer exists.
It no longer exists because I've been on T for so long that my voice finally dropped.
Admittedly, I'm not sure how to articulate it- the fact that I've wanted so desperately to find a way to expand the story but never found anything that felt right, how much fun I had with the various personas I put on while playing this entire thing. The fact that this ARG was initially planned to have a grimdark ending where Callie comes to hate humanity, but everyone was so damn kind, so loving, that it changed the trajectory of everything because it became impossible to write a tragedy when everyone wanted so badly to lift her up. The fact that people loved her.
In a lot of ways, it's bittersweet, because I think this is the only way I could have ended things: without an ending at all. Just a suggestion of what's to come.
I won't be continuing with the blogs anymore- Calliemori, her sister, or @serenesirene - but stay tuned in the coming months.
I have something in the works for y'all.
In the meantime, thank you all for coming on this journey! I'll be on for the next few days to field questions and to put a spotlight to the current contents of my inbox- because trust me when I say, you're gonna wanna see this.
I love y'all dearly, and keep it pushing.
