Moving away from this blog and Tumblr in general because I've realized how passive-aggressive the vibes have gotten over the past few years and I just want to lay low again.

There are no more words that can describe the ongoing terror that Palestinians have been going through for nearly 2 years.
Millions are being starved and denied food and medical aid, and even shot at for simply receiving what little aid pours in.
This is the recent case of Ayman Al-Habil and his son, who were recently shot and injured while buying flour to feed their family.
There are at least 12 family members, with 1 chronically ill adult, 2 chronically ill children, all with injuries, and 1 martyred family member. I have been in contact with his daugther, Malak through WhatsApp for the past few months and help set campaigns when humanly possible.
The Al-Habil family is #305 on @el-shab-hussein & @nabulsi's vetted fundraiser list, but they lost access to their GoFundMe account, and I tried to see if I can help set up a Chuffed.org campaign page.
Unfortunately, my country (the Philippines) was not listed on the narrow list of countries qualified to host fundraisers.
For the meantime, I have offered to use my PayPal to receive donations, as Malak stated that she has simply asked a friend in their area to receive the funds but don't trust him well enough, so I was entrusted to keep track of the funds and message her whenever there are updates. With that, I also promise to post updates from my PayPal account with the private information blocked out, so there's transparency and honesty.
The Al-Habil urgently needs €200 EUR (approx. $233.93 USD) for treatment and urgent medical care, food and water, and other necessities.

There's a nuanced scene in Sinners that I'd like to point out that may explain why Smoke didn't just throw Cornbread the money instead of placing it directly into his hand.
I'm barely old enough to remember the conversation my elders had about how exchanging money between races was a thing. Whether it was an actual written law or just a punishable social no-no, it was unacceptable to place money directly into the hands of white people.
For black people, we had to set the money on the counter so that they could pick it up, and for white people, they would purposely ignore our outstretched hand to place the money on the counter. A silent way to draw the line in the sand.
In the south, especially, it became an encoded social construct, long after the Jim Crow era, that a particular generation would still abide by these rules. My grandma would refuse to shop in places if the clerk refused to take money from her hand. Additionally, if she had to accept cash, she would demand that they place it in her hand. I've seen her and my mother refuse money if they didn't give the respect they demanded.
As a kid, I thought it was silly, but as an adult, I understand that it is a sign of respect or disrespect.
With all that in mind, no, Smoke wouldn't dare throw money at Cornbread because it was utterly disrespectful to do that during that era. Smoke was operating within the boundaries of their social customs, and as a black man, wouldn't dream of disrespecting another black man that way, accused vampire or not.
In today's society, think of the scene in ATL where Big Boi said "Oooh shit! That was so disrespectful. You done hit me in my mouth with some got damn money." Big Boi, also from the south, improvised that line, and I'm willing to bet cash that he was taught the same customs. That "oooh shit," was my exact reaction when I first saw that movie.
Additionally, I'd like to add that I appreciated the sentiment behind this interaction because you can see Smoke battling internally with whether to throw the money for self-preservation (no one would have blamed him) or to place it in Cornbread's hand.
Watching that scene, I thought of Cornbread's family and how Stack showed up to present a better way of life. I thought of how Cornbread was out there that night because he believed in Smoke and Stack's vision. And how he'll never return home to his family. And how Smoke, with all of this in his mind as well, saw past the threat of Cornbread potentially being a vampire and saw Cornbread (for the last time) as his friend.
So as a parting gesture, Smoke placed the money in his hand. Even if it meant going down with him.

Hi, so the good news is that I've picked up a consistent gig with my 2nd job but the bad news is that it doesn't pay much. My hormonal issues have also worsened, I recently had a cyst on my chest & am on my 5th period over the past 2 months. My dr. wants to wait it out until June to see if my hormones stabilize on their own before discussing other options & I'm fine with that, but as a result, I've been dealing with a lot of pain & have gone through many packs of menstrual pads which can be a bit expensive at the rate at which I have been getting my periods over & over again.

Not to be a technical writer on main, but I've been bumping into the idea lately that the only reason explaining yourself in more detail never seems to work is because neurotypical people are misunderstanding you on purpose, or because they have short attention spans, or because they just hate listening to you talk – and sure, occasionally that's even true, but most of the time the problem you're running into is more fundamental.
Every time you add more detail, you're running the risk of tripping over a bad assumption on your part about the listener's prior knowledge, or hitting the tipping point where they become overwhelmed with new information (and remember that you don't know which parts of what you're saying will be new information for them), or making a leap of logic that isn't as self-evident as you think it is, or any of a dozen other potential snags which, by definition, you will not see coming until it's too late to correct course.
Basically, every piece of information you add multiplies the odds of you getting blindsided by some vector of misunderstanding you didn't anticipate, even as it addresses the ones you did anticipate. The point of diminishing returns where continuing to elaborate increases the odds of unexpected miscommunication more than it decreases the odds of expected miscommunication is much nearer than you'd like.
The most effective act of communication is not the one which contains the most possible information, but the one which contains the smallest amount of information it possibly can while still getting its point across. It sucks, but it's the reality of the situation. People far more autistic than you have been trying for hundreds of years to invent a way of communicating which doesn't work this way, without success.
All of which is to say that "getting to the damn point" is legitimately a communication skill, not just an accommodation for people who aren't paying attention. If it's any consolation, it's something neurotypical people struggle with just as much as anyone else – if it was easy, technical writers wouldn't have jobs!
