☄💖 HAPPY 74th BIRTHDAY FREDDIE MERCURY 💖☄

Last but not least piece of my Zodiac series for Queen's birthdays! Really, guys, I'm so proud of how good this came out and I'm so happy I managed to do it for Freddie's birthday! 😭💖 Like the other Zodiac drawings I based it on the Queen logo and on Wembley '86. Freddie's zodiacal sign, Virgo, in the logo is represented by two little angels sitting on some rose thorns at the bottom of the symbol and admiring the whole logo. In my drawing I wanted to draw them as younger versions of Freddie himself, looking at the Legend he became. I didn't want to draw him in that iconic pose tho, the one used everywhere with the raised arm, it became such a strong symbol that I didn't feel like drawing it myself, it wasn't personal as it should've been. I've found another photo that caught my heart, with Freddie pointing and smiling at the camera. "I want to draw this one." I thought, so here we are. I fell in love with that photo and I loved reproducing it. The Phoenix... well, it's obvious, it's above the Queen logo and represents power, energy and rebirth. I tried to place it as if it's Freddie that has those huge wings, but also as if the Phoenix is protecting Freddie in its embrace, granting him immortality.

I'm really proud of this drawing and I hope it's a good birthday gift for Freddie. Thank you for everything! 💖💖💖

This isn’t surprising at all, she treated Phoebe, Joe and Jim so badly after Freddie died. Phoebe said the whole atmosphere changed in the house as she installed cameras and new locks on Garden Lodge only a few months after Freddie’s death. All 3 of them had to officially leave the house by March 1, 1992. This is a date she set up for them even though Freddie said they are welcome to stay in Garden Lodge for as long as they need.

And let’s not forget this quote by Mary Austin which shows that she’s only ever been concerned about herself:

“If he [Freddie] hadn’t been such a decent human being and told me [that he suffers from Aids] I wouldn’t be here,’ she says candidly. ‘If he had gone along living a bisexual life without telling me, I would have contracted Aids and died.”
