Limbus Meursault is basically the designated cook on the bus (with multiple promo arts/merch depicting him cooking). In the book, Meursault eats eggs straight out of the pan because he doesn’t feel like making it nice.

Limbus Meursault is apparently their resident expert on funerary rites, and was the first to offer condolences about Cathy because that’s what you’re supposed to do when someone close to the person you’re interacting with has died. In the book, a huge stink is made at his murder trial because at his mother’s funeral, he smoked a cigarette and didn’t have the proper coffee for someone who should be in mourning, and then he went on a date like a day later.

Book Meursault is way beyond caring about acting properly or what others think of him, and doesn’t mind not recognizing his emotions. Limbus Meursault is desperate for an objective view of himself (see Fauvist and Cinq IDs), and tries his best to mold himself into what others need him to be (Bloodfiend being the only ID to have smiling sprites because the prince of the parade must smile, Dieci doing the dieci thing despite book Meursault’s atheism) or sometimes just what they *want* him to be (LCB Meursault stating that he stopped elaborating on his thoughts because no one wanted to hear it). Society wants book Meursault dead because he shows no sign of wanting to change himself and conform (his atheism contributes— they say he refuses to have his soul saved), but Limbus Meursault wants to be what they expect him to be, but is *incapable* of bridging the gap. He learned how to cook properly, but Papa Bongy liked Outis’s dish better because she put heart in it and he couldn’t.

What I want to know is if this is a fundamental Meursault adaptation difference, or if Limbus Meursault was more like book Meursault before #theincident and his shitty trial, and because it didn’t end in his execution (which made him fully accept absurdism), it caused him to go “if I follow every rule with no deviation no one will find fault with my behavior ever again :)”
