This is my absolute hottest health take, healthy at any size is a myth.
There is a point (probably past 350) where anyone’s health is impacted by their weight. I do believe healthy doesn’t have a “look” but unhealthy has many looks, including extremely overweight.
My uncle is overweight and my whole family is aware this will probably cut his life short because he doesn’t qualify for a weight loss medicine and he can’t afford weight loss surgery.
You can be very fat or thin and still be healthy but there is a point where no matter who you are that weight is unhealthy.
Agree, but 350 is being extremely generous. I'd say significant impacts start much lower. Not just joint pain, fatigue, breathing problems, sleeping problems, etc., but also neuroinflammation and metabolic factors that lead to depression and mood disorders. You cannot be healthy at any size - under or overweight.
Not losing weight because you don't have access to medical intervention isn't an excuse; eat less, move more.
Another good video from Sam at Every Size about the internet's favorite problematic lolcow, Anna O'Brien, AKA Glitter and Lazers. Sam discusses Anna's conflicting influencer posts across her many platforms, noting her failure to disclose her use of GLP-1s and cosmetic surgeries in her fitness posts, mega omissions that amount to lying, and heavy body/face filters that distort reality.
maybe y'all didn't notice but fat people who don't hate ourselves sure did notice that people were obsessed with shitting on fat people in the late 90s and early 2000s (conservative political time) and now are again (fascist political time), coincidentally while the market for weight loss has become a 90 billion dollar industry due to glp1s.
you are not immune to propaganda. it makes some people a whole hell of a lot of money for you to hate fat people and fear becoming (or staying, I think like 70% or something of the US is fat) one of us.
Oof many different factors to what you are talking about here.
For one yes and no when it came to 90s/00s era of fashion and dieting. This was due to the transition of just the times. The economy was somewhat booming especially when it came to consumption of different products along with the hype to the progression of technology. It was definitely a good time for advertisement of many different things to be honest, and yes that included eating disorders. But that was due to different transitions of what was perceived as healthy or unhealthy. There was alot of propaganda to how unhealthy cigarettes were, saturated fat, fat in general, carbs, and this was around the time where they were playing around with the new food pyramid. Then there was an even more introduction to daytime talk show doctors! Ex. Dr. Oz, The Doctors which Oprah was exclusive with Dr. Oz for a hot minute there.
So, there was alot of information being spread nation wide due to these type of shows, and day time television talk shows were really big in this time line of history.
So, there was alot of misconceptions when it came to food in general, and that could be the reason why crash diets are still in routine in our society currently. Why? Mostly due to wanting quick fixes to current circumstances. Glp1 was originally supposed to help people with diabetes, but now is currently used to help aid in losing weight. Due to slowing down of digesting of food to feel full longer and not overconsume food. This was to help prevent spikes in blood sugar. Granted this is just supposed to be a tool and not a permanent solution to losing weight. You still have to put in the work to lose weight; such as eating a more whole foods, having physical activity, and doing the process of elimination of what works for you in regards to maintaining a healthy life style.
Also, don't know what you were referencing on the 90 billion USD industry of glp1?
I found this link down here and it states that the current record that they have was for 2023 of 71.66 billion. So, didn't see site for 90 billion and just gonna assume that you are predicting the probability of a 20 billion increase when they update their database. Also, did not find anything for World Wide just information for the US...
This economic evaluation estimates annual total US spending on glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor agonists from 2018 to 2023.
From my understanding the European countries have their own brand of glp1/ozempic and this was the article that I came across to how much their brand can cost according to their public/private health insurance:
Who qualifies for GLP-1 weight loss in Europe? See BMI rules, country access, costs, coverage, side effects, and how to get a safe prescript
If anything we need to talk about the fast food/restaurant industries, because after the pandemic food deliveries and take out has increased and is on the rise. (considering world wide as well in the statistics)
Our food delivery and dining stats can tell you everything you need to know about the state of the industry and its patrons.
To your statement it is not about hating fat people in regards to how they came about making the glp1 as written in the article it was to help people with diabetes. From there it was decided to be use as a weight loss aid as well due to people losing weight while on the medication. Almost how Viagra was originally supposed to help with heart issues, but help with erectile disfunction instead. Sometimes medication that was intended for one thing may end up being used for another thing.
Here is a case study in regards to diabetes in America:
Explore the latest diabetes in America data, including type 2 diabetes statistics, prevalence by age and ethnicity, death rates, and the fin
This site goes into deeper statistics and map out which states have high and low on the diabetes counts. (*spoiler no state is in the green for being under 25% obese)

Welp! Hope that you have a good, and that you do research in oppose to just believing whatever the media spews.
fat is not just obese, you really need to learn the difference between overweight, obesity type 1, 2 and 3. and coming from an an0r3xic with many friends with the same disorder, most people who read blogs like yours are not fat people, but an0r3xic people who do it to further scare themselves of gaining weight and as "motivation" to continue disordered eating. you're not helping fat people to suddenly realize obesity (not being overweight, obesity) causes health issues (like they didn't know that before) and decide to lose weight thanks to you, you're helping mentally ill people keep st4rv!ng themselves. an0r3xia is a mental disorder with highest mortality rate btw. I suggest you take a different approach if you actually care about people's health and instead of doing "#fatlogic" type of posts idk post healthy meals ideas, workout ideas that are actually healthy and not what you, intentionally or not , cause people to do to their bodies
Bitch I'm not censoring myself because you don't like the way I say it.
You've commented on a few of my posts, and if you've relapsed (as you stated in my comments) and are recovering from an ED, why the fuck are you on Tumblr, dumbass? This place has been a pro-ED cesspit for over a decade. Despite that, I've never promoted disordered eating, one way or the other.
I appeal to folks who are done with the bullshit, which apparently you are not. Delete your Tumblr account and get therapy, fucking moron.
The one thing thin people will not tell you is that they literally cannot control their bowel movements.
They have deprived themselves from food and so much nutrients that they start crapping themselves. Thin people will not tell you this because they want to be the perfect skin and bone pickmeisha.
Still wanna be thin? Does throwing your food up like a toddler and shitting yourself sound appealing?
Malnutrition is the imbalance between the nutrients your body needs and the nutrients it gets. If you eat more than what your body needs, you are malnourished. Fat people are not "well-fed"; they are overfed.
you may have already touched on this, but the concept of “thin privilege” that they spew absolutely kills me.
in a world full of starving people, you have gorged yourself on so much food that you are the size of three average human beings and you think that isn’t privilege? your biggest problem is that old navy doesn’t carry your size or that an online brand you like “only” carries up to size 3XL and you don’t think that is privilege? you’re mad because you are a frequent flyer and the airline is no longer reimbursing you for the second seat you need to accommodate your size and you don’t think that’s privilege?
i’ve never even been on a plane. how privileged must you be to take flights so often that you call yourself an “advocate” for larger airline seats and special airline accommodations for fat people.
i’m actually so sick of these people and it only gets worse. they want to be oppressed so fucking bad.
signed, a formerfat who absolutely hated their “life in a larger body” and has never looked back
I believe thin privilege is a thing, in that thin people are treated differently from fat people, but I'd rather frame it as a bias rather than a privilege if that makes sense. Societal biases also exist in other areas, such as height, attractiveness, age, and sex. It is what it is.
Fat people, mostly fat women, have the privilege of being sexist and misogynistic against thin women while shielding themselves behind oppressed groups, and absolving themselves from overeating to the point that they can't walk into a store and buy clothes off the rack.
Out of the phatfubbubbubbia crowd, the most insane take I've seen so far is claiming that thinness equals fascism. See Youtube video under kink code v=ieyqunul_uQ
Ah, yes, historical appropriation. They've hijacked other marginalized groups (POC, LGBTQIA+, AADP, etc.), so why not throw political oppression in there? The goal for them is to be a morally unimpeachable victim of society so that they don't have to take responsibility for a preventable condition (obesity).
While there are legitimate criticisms of how society treats people of different sizes, equating health or fitness culture with fascism diminishes both the real harms of political oppression and the complexity of health issues.
It's essentially using inflammatory political language to shut down discussions about health and personal responsibility rather than engaging with the underlying issues constructively. So, very on brand for Fat Acceptance/Fat Liberation.
And when you think of what's going on out there in the world right now, piggybacking off of those who are truly politically oppressed is egregious.
Angus Barbieri (1938 or 1939 – 7 September 1990) was a Scottish man who fasted for 382 days, from 14 June 1965 to 30 June 1966. He subsisted on tea, coffee, sparkling water, vitamins, and yeast extract while living at home in Tayport, Scotland, frequently visiting Maryfield Hospital for medical evaluation. Barbieri went from 456 pounds (207 kg) to 180 pounds (82 kg), losing 276 pounds (125 kg) and setting a record for the length of a fast.
As long as you're taking in vitamins, minerals, and amino acids, you cannot die of starvation if you are fat. Obviously, do not try this this fast (this was medically supervised) - but it just goes to show that "starvation mode" doesn't exist.
thank you for being one of the sane people still on this app. i swear a lot of people are dedicated to being miserable and ignoring the fact that they have personal responsibility over their lives. it’s like they want something to be wrong with them so they don’t have to do anything else. keep it up, hopefully someone will come to their senses seeing your posts.
I have the absolute worst food addiction. I know I have a food addiction. I hate myself for it and while others swear they don't, I know they hate me for it too. I'm so tired of driving down the highway and stuffing my face with fried chicken while I cry because I hate myself and scream at myself to stop eating. I'm at an okay weight now but I know I won't be an okay weight forever if I keep this up. I'm fucking disgusting and I don't want to be. It's my own fault, no one is forcing me to do this, it's me. I've tried so many things and my impulsiveness hasn't helped at all. Do you have even the smallest amount of advice to overcome even the most difficult food addiction? I'm so desperate. I don't want to be a slave to food anymore, I want to be me. I miss being me.
I'm not a doctor or a licensed therapist, so I don't want to give you any advice other than to take this seriously. Addiction is hard, and I have lost people to it. Food addiction is very real, and you need the kind of support you won't be able to find on Tumblr.

Here's how the Fat Acceptance/Fat Liberation operates, similar to a cult:
Ideological rigidity: The movement can exhibit black-and-white thinking, where questioning any aspect of the ideology is met with hostility. Nuanced discussions about health risks or personal weight loss goals may be shut down completely.
Purity testing and policing: Members may face scrutiny over their adherence to movement principles. Someone who loses weight, discusses dieting, or expresses body dissatisfaction might be accused of betraying the cause or having "internalized fatphobia."
Information control: There can be pressure to reject mainstream medical advice about obesity-related health risks, with dissenting scientific evidence dismissed as "fatphobic pseudoscience." Alternative explanations that minimize health risks are promoted in place of them.
Us-vs-them mentality: The movement often frames society in terms of oppressor/oppressed dynamics, with anyone not fully aligned with fat liberation viewed as part of the problem.
Shaming and ostracism: People who deviate from accepted beliefs may face public callouts, harassment, or social exclusion from the community.
Emotional manipulation: Appeals to trauma, victimhood, and moral superiority can be used to shut down criticism or maintain group cohesion.
Men's attraction to women is so boring it's like they take a stick and slap some boobs and ass on that thing then put a hole in it and say "bam, my perfect woman" meanwhile lesbians will go into depth of all the actual aspects of the female body (uterus pouch, sagging boobs, realistic muscles and fat, body hair, REALISTIC VULVAS) and appreciate the female form for what it actually is
This is so horribly gross and sexist. Men don't "make" women. They certainly don't "slap" boobs and ass on a "stick" with a "hole" and call it a perfect woman. This is just you denigrating thin women or women you find offensive because they happen to fall into a "conventionally attractive" category. This is you being a piece of shit misogynist.
Ask yourself what is "realistic."
I'll tell you what's not real - a fucking uterus pouch. Your uterus is only like 4 inches, and it's tucked behind your pelvic bone. It doesn't sag. This is not an "actual aspect" of the female body, you fucking moron.
