"Girls don't play guitar" is what John Lennon said to this all-girl band, The Liverbirds, in the early 60s. Paul Mccartney on the other hand was very open to the idea of seeing an all-girl band and encouraged them to go forward.

Women created rock, not men. This is Sister Rosetta Tharpe. She was the first person to make rock n' roll by mixing blues with electric guitar. She later inspired musicians such as Chuck Barry, Elvis Presley, and Keith Richards.

She is so important and so forgotten.
