The Maritime Festival (almost) every year has a Coast Guard rescue demo and it's my favorite part. The vendors are cool, but honestly I'm there for the demo. Last year, they had to cancel because they were called to an actual rescue but this year they did have the opportunity to do the demo! They did two fly-overs of the crowd, and the rescue demo with the helicopter and with the boat. It was fantastic. The pilot did a fantastic job. They hovered very steadily with no drifting or swaying, and for quite some time. I love the sound of the rotors and engine, especially when they put in more power, I could feel it in my chest. Totally worth standing out in the cold spring rain for.

10/10 would come again next year.

Seeing how much those tabs open, bring so much frustrating memory where I had to look every document, every article to get my thesis done haha.

That aside, I love how messy it looks. I should’ve bring my Cars diecast as my mental support back then I guess.. Most of friends working with their thesis together, and I mostly work on my thesis alone, so you get that lonely feelings I guess.

You Can't Fix What's Already Broken

A week after being at Piston Peak, it's almost fire season and Maru decides to fit her into her Smokejumper gear. After a while, Ember comes out with a new paint job that resembles a fire, custom rims, a black visor, handle bar - like accessories, and heavy duty tires.

With Blade being probably the only one out on the tarmac, since everyone else was doing their own thing elsewhere, she comes out of Maru's garage and asks the Chief for his opinion on her new look.

However, upon seeing her in her new look, it causes Blade to experience flashbacks of Nick, reminding him too much of the incident and what his deceased lover looked like before they filmed the final episode of CHoPs.

Ember, not knowing what was going on with Blade entirely, reaches out to him and asks if he's okay, but it sparks a horrible reaction out of him. Still experiencing the flashbacks somewhat, he tells her that she looks great and he was going to be inside his hangar because he wasn't feeling well.

As he leaves her alone on the tarmac and as she watches him leave, she's left alone with her own self-destructive thoughts. She knows that she made a mistake, and she wants to fix it, but as the saying goes...

There's no fixing what's already broken.

Sometimes I like to think that Dusty, after winning, went back to thank this guy for being his training buddy, without even knowing. Or maybe he noticed the little fella flying beneath him so often? Who knows. Either way, I'm sure Sharpes was surprised by Dusty's little explanation but nonetheless happy to have helped.
